Re: SOS HELP

It sound like startx is failing for some reason. I predict that you are out of storage space. If you have a card bigger than 2GB, make sure the linux partition has been expanded in raspi-config.

Definitely not the multi-audio track thing then.

What's your mem split?

If you don't know what I mean, then your memsplit is 128/128 which should be fine.

Maybe it has multiple audio tracks--pushing CPU too hard?
Memory split?

Anyone who can tell me where the config file is for video in Pi Debian (standard)?

Re: Dell 2407WFP Monitor

I've looked up your monitor and it has DVI-D in. Connect the Pi to that with an HDMI-DVI adapter for high res. Composite only supports low res.

I highly doubt it is 1200x600. Don't forget, we're talking about composite video.

Thanks,
There is no firmware, everything to make something happen is on the boot partition of an SD card.

Re: My brand new Pi won't boot - at all

No green LED ever at all = you did not image the SD card correctly OR less likely, voltage too low for SD card to be read OR even less likely SD card not all the way in slot

Re: Better Package Manager than Aptitude for Raspian Wheezy?

Maybe Synaptic? (you have to run it in a GUI though)

Get with

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install synaptic
(Yes I know you have to use the package manager you hate to get it)

Does anyone know how I could add USB IR receiver support to this? Standalone XBMC distros support it, but it seems like Raspbian + XBMC doesn't.

Re: where do i find what is new for each firmware update

I believe for apt-get upgrade to update firmware, you first must refresh the repository listings using apt-get update. To answer your main question, there is a minor summary for each revision at GitHub https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/tree/master/boot although it only describes the most recen...
