Re: Composite does only show black and white/no colors

Another thing to add- For reading text, it might be a bit fuzzy and tiny on a larger screen. Something you may want to consider is doubling the pixel size with framebuffer_width=320 framebuffer_height=240 I was looking to sort out another problem, and found this comment of yours useful for working ...

Re: Incorrect screen resolution (or offset) via HDMI

Thank you for your reply, but I don't have windows based pc, only iMac. This wiki page don't have how to edit config.txt file on mac os. I tried to make boot folder and to place config.txt inside it, nothing changed. The /boot folder is from the Pi itself. 1. Turn on pi 2. Type sudo nano /boot/conf...

Re: screens and other basic bits

I don't want to discourage you, but this will end up physically bulky (and only as light as a normal netbook). Anyway, for external batteries check out http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#External_Batteries . --- Note: personally for you I would recommend a smaller, less well known Android tab...

The HDMI port can not receive Ethernet signals. Since it is related topic, the Ethernet cannot receive power. (PoE)

Don't listen to me at all, but:

MIPI CSI-2 has amazing bandwith, and the VideoCore IV is blisteringly fast when accelerated with appropriate drivers. Would it not be possible to run two cameras through one port?

Re: Incorrect screen resolution (or offset) via HDMI

Create a file in /boot (shows up as the FAT partition in Windows) called config.txt (you need to have root privileges if doing from the Pi itself). Add a line that says disable_overscan=1

You can take a look here for nightly builds--http://scotland.proximity.on.ca/arm-nightlies/vault/

I remember Dom mentioning something in passing about hdmi_force_hotplug in config.txt in a post somewhere. This may be helpful.

EDIT: Found it--http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 162#p77162

Doesn't look too helpful, actually. Oh well.

DVI-A doesn't really exist on it's own generally. Usually it's just the analog piece of DVI-I. It's extremely unlikely there would be DVI-A on its own on a controller with multiple inputs.
