Pi freezes with wifi adapter inserted

Hello all, whenever I have my wifi adapter in my pi and I try to boot, the pi freezes just before it starts the GUI. I have done a fresh install of Raspbian and I have installed the drivers for the adapter, which is a TP Link TL-WN725N. I have a B+ and off the top of my head I think it's running on ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 Overclocking? So Confused..

You have information for the Pi 1 and the Pi 2 mixed up, the Pi 2 is a quad core clocked at 900 mhz with 1gb of ram. the Pi 1 has a single core clocked at 600 mhz that can be overclocked to 1000 safely. as I do not have a Pi 2 yet I cannot tell you how high you can overclock it but I have no doubt t...

Re: sudden power issues

I will test it later when I get home, but I have been using the cable for months before I updated and the pi worked fine, like I said before, literally the only thing that is different is that I updated my pi. Edit: sorry if I come off a little short :? Also, where are the test pads at? Should the v...

The problem isn't the power supply, it worked just fine before the reinstall, it is a 5v1a power supply

sudden power issues

Hello all, I have been having some issues with my pi ever since I wiped the SD card and reinstalled raspbian. I have been using a usb battery pack with my pi and I almost never had any issues with it, the voltage is pretty stable, hovering around 5.1x volts, but after the wipe the rainbow square is ...

Re: Battery Help!

it will work, but the quality will be horrible. when I first started out I went with a smaller version of that, and it was hard to do anything because the video was so fuzzy, like a VCR tape. after a few months I went and got the 5" version of the screen I showed you, and I have no regrets. trust me...

POLL: how much internet data do you use?

How much data do you use? the main reason I am starting this poll is because my dad thinks that I use an exorbitant amount of Internet data. currently we have an Iphone 4 with an unlimited data plan which I have jailbroken and installed an application to enable tethering on the current data plan. th...

awesome, hopefully it doesn't matter that the board is a mITX, what would you recommend for a SSD? nothing over 128 because I plan on installing the OS and maybe a game or two on it.

how do I tell if these SATA drives work?

Hey all, I am building a gaming pc on a budget, and I have the whole thing under $650 with S&H. anyways, in order to keep within budget, I am using some parts that I have lying around, just a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and a pair of 500GB sata HDDs. now I'd like to know if these drives work...

Re: Steam

you cannot run steam on a raspberry pi, only really really old games from the DOS era via emulation. a desktop computer has a x86 type processor in it and the pi has a smartphone type ARM processor. If you have a NVIDIA gpu you can use limelight pi to stream steam yo your pi, search the forums :)

Actually, yes you can broadcast to more than one pi, just as long as your network can handle it

Re: Doom 3 on Raspberry Pi 2

Hello there, I just wanted to point out that with some other quake based games on the pi like JK2 and RtcW, OpenGL fails to initialise for me too, so this may be a problem with raspbian itself, or something within raspbian. But maybe this is just me...... So take it as you will :D

a few years ago I had a Sony Vaio laptop that refused to boot one day, so I sent it in under warranty to be repaired. when it returned a couple of weeks later, I booted it up to check to make sure it worked, and to my great suprise, inside the dvd tray was The Sims 3, with the cd key written in perm...

Re: Can RPi B+ do something beyond raspi-config?

you cannot use the desktop from ssh, you need to use vnc, see here; http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/remote-access/vnc/ ssh is just for accessing the command line remotely, and vnc is basically a slide show of the screen, so use a monitor or a screen if you plan on doing anything "visually e...

Hello all, Today I give you Red Alert on the pi! I compiled from this source, https://www.openhub.net/p/openredalert It runs ok performance wise, although it did crash a few times for me, it's rather buggy. In skirmish mode I got about 45 fps, I have very high overclock settings, 1.2 ghz you will ne...

Re: Gaming with powered USB hub

Well, for starters, a powered hub will only help if you need more ports or more power for peripherals connected to said ports, they will NOT improve performance. the best way to improve performance is to overclock your raspberry, but seeing as you did already, there really really (AFAIK) much you ca...
