hi-res breakout display

hi all, I am looking for a high resolution breakout display for my project, anything higher than 480x320 would be fine, and bonus points for a touch screen :)

Edit: I will be playing games and watching videos

Re: Powering a 5v VFD screen

okay, well then you need to have a powered hub, because the B can only supply about 140 mah over it's usb ports, and your screen requires up to 500 mah

Re: Powering a 5v VFD screen

Depends.... If you have a B+ or newer, then yes, but you will need to have a good power supply, ideally 2 amp, and you will need to allow the pi to supply more power to it's USB ports via config.txt, you can find out how to do that via a forum search

Re: Another Terraria Server 'Can't Connect' problem

have you tried connecting to the pi's IP through Terreria itself? to me this seems like it could be a networking problem. try disabling your firewall and antivirus before you connect, my brother and I had some problems like this when we tried to play games via LAN, and that seemed to fix the problem...

Yes, you can use that adapter, in fact, you could use an adapter rated at 5v 50a and it would still work with the pi.

Re: Pi Handheld console

well, you might be able to get a second-hand one from someone who has upgraded, other than that, I guess there is not much you can do.... but maybe Valve might release some sort of streaming solution for the pi, but that's just my wishful thinking :)

Re: The Future of the Pi A series

to me, the only people who would get the A are the people doing robotics/autonomous type projects, and those don't really need more powerful hardware so much as less power consumption. I may be wrong here though.

QUESTION: possible to damage pi through HDMI?

hello all, I have been searching for a while now and I cannot seem to find the right HDMI cable/adapter for my project. I have a HDMI screen for my project, and I need a short low profile cable to connect the driver board to the pi. now I am not an expert at soldering but I think I can do this, but ...

Re: Pi Handheld console

well, you could get a GTX 750 ti for $120 at the cheapest on newegg, it might not be much of an improvement but you could stream games to limelight, or you could get a GTX 960 and have a definite improvement. also, the 750 ti gets it's power from the PCI slot so you could save some money there too :...

Re: Pi Handheld console

well, about the only other streaming solution I know of on the pi is using OpenBroadcaster and omxplayer, but that has a 750 ms delay, although it works almost perfectly, the delay is a killer for everything except watching movies... as of now there is no steam in home streaming on the pi, although ...

I'd like something that would be compact and flush with the Pi's HDMI port because space is a real constraint here.

HDMI Ribbon cable/ 360' male to male adapters?

Hey all, I'm looking for an adapter for my fifth revision of my handheld pi system, I want to make a Nvidia Shield type system but I can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for, so does anyone know of an adapter, preferably a ribbon cable for more flexibility?
