Re: Finding IP address of wlan0(wifi)

my /etc/network/interfaces
auto l0
iface l0 inet loopback
iface eth0 inet dhcp

allow-hotplug wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
iface default inet dhcp

so why my wlan0 isn't up?

@doug, I try both ip adds and if config wlan0. It doesn't list the inet field. It only list the hardware address, no ip address listed.

Finding IP address of wlan0(wifi)

I type in ipconfig wlan0 it only shows Ethernet HWaddr 00:13:ef:30:00:8e RX Packet, TX Packet. I don't see any IP address . I already put this on my wpa_supplicant.conf so the wlan0 should be configured already network={ ssid="HOME-1EF" proto=RSN key_mgmt=WPA-PSK pairwise=CCMP TKIP group=CCMP TKIP p...

Detect Wifi

I type in lnusb, it detects Realtek USB Wifi device.

but when I type ifconfig it only lists eth0, l0, wlan0, it doesn't have en0 or en1 which is the Wifi(Realtek).

so, why can't ifconfig detect Wifi?

USB Wifi causing issues

USB Wifi caused the screen to flicker and caused the USB mouse or Keyboard not to respond.

I also try the USB hub with 7 ports and put in my keyboard, mouse and wifi but they are not responding once plugged to the hub

Howto transfer files from SD Card to /Home directory

I have some files on my other computer system and like to transfer to the pi system.

I put them on my SD Card and when I booted my pi system with that card, I could see my "wanted files".

So, how do I transfer files from my other system to SD Card and then to my pi system?

My screen keep flashing despite config_hdmi_boost=4

I couldn't rid of flashing on screen by setting config_hdmi_boost=4. So what other options do I have?

NOOBS not proceeding

Inside the NOOBS setup, there's the option for install Raspbian (A Debian Wheezy port), I chose that option and want to proceed but I can't

Hitting the return key only toggle to select or unselect the Raspbian option. I don't know to proceed in this.

Does Pi only work with certain brand of USB keyboards.

I try 2 USB keyboards already and don't work with pi. Tabbed on keyboard, and no response. Also, SD card with NOOB has config.txt and when I powered up , there's nothing displayed except a greenish and blueish screen flashed back and forth. I suppose to tab the keyboard for 2 to enter but no respons...

No display or Unable to boot

I followed the instruction of downloading the wheezy-raspbian image and unzip it. I used formatted the sd card and wrote the image successfully to the SD card using dd command. I read the sd card and everything is there, I turn on the pi system, there is the power red light and green light flashed f...
