Howto to recover a haywired pi system.

My pi just went hay wired during boot.

It wouldn't boot normally.
It ends with Permission denied
INIT : ld "1" responding too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

and keep repeating this loop.

Keyboard doesn't respond.

I don't know what I did to cause this issue.

Re: RPi library issue

I've got 0.5.3a installed using apt-get install python-rpi.gpio Try to see what multitude of versions are installed on your system with find /usr | grep -i gpio Richard's test worked on that. It worked again after I apt-get purged that version and used PIP to install 0.5.5. Oh, I see both GPIO-0.2....

Re: rotary encoder.

The rotary encoder described in the video you linked to is just two switches; one side of each is A and B, the others are connected together as C All the other complications are just there to get the switches to open and close in the right order - you could do the same with any two switches, as lon...

Re: rotary encoder.

These encoders are switches. There is a common connection and A and B switch outputs. They don't need power. Typically you would connect common to GND and A and B to inputs with pullups. . I thought you said A and B are outputs and then you said they are inputs with pull-ups. Pullups to high. where...

If I have to use that daemon, do I need to download additionally from Debian or I just have to switch to arch Linux?

Or anything that spins a wheel, I just want to see how the wires from the wheel hook up with a rotary encoder and hook up to a pi.

Not all wifi dongle can support AP mode. But those capable of, can they support self discovery?
self discovery means the wifi dongle with AP mode ping nearby nodes. The AP wifi would self discover their location within network topology.

Re: Can you use the Pi as network repeater in a big building

Hi, The far best approach (in terms of throughput) is to connect RasPi to Ethernet and configure AP with its WiFi card. (Additionally, PoE can simplify everything...) I'm wondering what is latest project you have completed with RasPi lately ? ;) Best wishes, Ivan Zilic. I am doing feasibility study...
