Re: Pi Zero W availability

From the RPF's point of view, as long as people are unable to buy large quantities at the educational price, then the desire to prevent scalping is achieved. That is whole reason behind the official line. Does that mean that all of these listings on ebay are imaginary? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.ht...

There is no way that we, out here, can fix it by telepathy.
You could try Remote Viewing https://www.google.com/search?q=remote+ ... 8&oe=utf-8 ;)

Perhaps a transient on your power lines when something turns on at the same time every day.

That board on Banggood got good reviews and it's fairly cheap. Why not give it a try?

An old British joke goes.

Doctor, doctor, it hurts when I do this.

The Doctor replies: Stop doing it.
Sorry, but it's not originally British. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_and_Dale

You could run a web server that's written in Python. I like this one http://cherrypy.org/

Re: Help with my build

The RPi3B has wi-fi built in. You need a good power supply and a good sd card. Samsung EVO+ work really well. Chrome is installed in Raspbian and you can install Firefox if you want it.

I know two people that have RPis and neither of them is using theirs. So, based on my experience, most people don't use their RPis. ;)

Since you'll probably be getting them some customers they'd be crazy not to deal with you. Why not just give it a try.

The RPi doesn't handle analog. I would suggest keeping the Arduino and sending data to an RPi for processing.

Why not go back even farther and recreate a CP/M machine? I have fond memories of learning C on my Osborne.

Opto triacs are used with AC. What you want is an opto coupler.

[solved]Problem writing serial strings

Using Python 3 I want to send a serial string from a Raspberry Pi to an Arduino that's running a sinewave generator. This works fine ser = serial.Serial('/dev/ttyUSB0', timeout = 1) ser.write(b'200') But I need the frequency to be variable f = '200' # This raises an error ser.write(f) # This sends g...
