I am not sure but I think that the ability to power that many relays seperate from you 5VDC header pin # X is pretty critical to it working correctly and not eventually cooking your Pi. I have never seen the board you are using in use, so I don't know of it's integrity.

I just set up my Pi with PiFace, am planning on using it to run SainSmart 8 relay board. I am wondering if anyone has used AB Electronics Buffer Pi between the PiFace and the Pi? Right now I have two power supplies, but in the video they were running from the same PSU. Power was supplied to the +5v and Gnd Connector on the PiFace (i don't use the micro USB at all) and to pins GND & JDVCC of the jumper header - I removed the jumper completely. (the VCC pin is NOT connected) ...
