Re: Scratch Stepper Motor Piface

Good Job,

I am putting together some things to use along with it. Some industrial flow control stuff, and then some wireless monitoring.

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I pretty much gave up on the Lapdock 100 as means of using my Raspberry Pi. I am wondering for the last time, if updating the config.txt file by boosting the hdmi_boost would benefit the Lapdock. I believe that my Lapdocks are loosing the HDMI signal and are shutting off. I have done every thing tha...

Re: Scratch Piface 8 channel Relay

Not at all sure you're doing anything wrong at all! It's going to be tricky debugging this since I don't have a Piface to test with... but patience and wild guesses may save the day ;-) One test to try - open Scratch drag one of the sensor [button pressed] tiles into the script editor get the menu ...

Re: Controlling stepper motors via I2C?

You can have up to EIGHT MCP23017 on each I2C bus, just set each one to to a different I2C address. Even the boards pictured have jumpers to set address. Hello, I am in approximately the same position as the orginal poster to this thread, Looking for some guidance to setting up RPi I2C to controll ...

Abel Electronics IO 32

Does anyone have experience with this expansion board. I have never used one. I just completed the soldering necessary to utilize the two 2 x 8 headers. I was hoping to get a clarification of why and when to use the INT A,B Pins, and how best to wire them, to what. Perhaps I should be asking for a g...

Re: Scratch Piface 8 channel Relay

I believe that the problem that I am having is caused by something that occurs during the file save process. I can save a perfectly working piece of Scratch code, and have it not function when I open it to run it again. I open the file, a Scratch session begins, I run Piface handler, I see that the ...

Re: Scratch Piface 8 channel Relay

Pardon my wandering, but.... I am now a little confused as to what was going on with my original issue with the Host, no Host and Scratch not sending digital out even though I had virtual indication of it? I will read back through all of the posts, prior to my next bit of testing but just in case is...

Scratch Piface 8 channel Relay

Hey , Back at Scratch with Piface. I set up a bit of a program that reads an input and starts a loop of turning on and off relays on a Sainsmart style relay board. It worked beautifully for a bunch of iterations then mysteriously quit. I looked over my circuit to make sure nothing had come undone an...

Re: Scratch Stepper Motor Piface

A possible issue here is that the current squeakvm for *nix has a problem with short delays. Attempting 1mS delays can result in in random variations from 2-3mS up to 25mS. As you might imagine this can really mess up code that is trying to do short delays... We're working on solving this and it sh...

Scratch Stepper Motor Piface

Hello,

Has anyone used Scratch to control a stepper motor via Piface? Here is some code that I have tried, the python version of which runs beautifully, however I get no rotation or extremely(imperceptable ) rotation in Scratch. Admittedly I am new to scratch and Piface.

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Yes, I mean the battery button. This is the button I press when the lapdock powered itself off and it simply boots when I press it. In no situation it powered itself off instantly for me. Once I press the button or attach the cables it turns on the screen and boots. Only when usb is not detected it...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I have no problems starting my RPI 2 with Wheezy and connected to my my Lapdock 100. Connected are the USB cable and the HDMI cable, not the micro Usb. To start I press the battery-check button just above the del-button. The RPI starts up, but not the screen. I see the leds in the RPI flickering, b...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Hello John, There is a power button near the bottom right side of the display between the keyboard and the display. If my battery is fully charged, the instant I plug in a USB cable from the Pi, the power comes on on the lapdock and the Raspberry Pi begins the boot process. So I have been plugging i...

Re: lapdock 100 - brightness control?

Did you actually get your lapdock 100 to work on a consistant basis. I can't not get my monitor to stay on for more than 2 seconds no matter who's "How To" instructions I follow. I am about to give up on the 100. Yes, it works for me. Lapdock 100 needs usb to be connected together with hdmi. Then it...

Re: lapdock 100 - brightness control?

Hi. I have both Atrix Lapdock and Lapdock 100. They indeed behave differently in many aspects. One seems to be the brightness control. On Atrix lapdock brightness control is builtin and work just fine without the pi noticing anything at all (unlike sound volume control keys which send key codes and...

Piface Outputs Always Carry 3.7VDC

Can someone tell me why my Piface Outputs are always carrying 3.7 volts. If I have LEDs on a breadboard connected to Piface outs, and to the ground in, they Light up as soon as I power up the Raspberry Pi. Weirdly enough things like stepper motor controllers and such seem to work just fine. I also h...

And by the way the how to guide makes no reference to the requirement to run the Scratch Handler file from LXTerminal once a Scratch session has been started.
