Re: BerryBoot and rpi-update?

I was using BerryBoot because I was running a surveillance system with three raspberries and my SD cards were corrupted after several weeks/months (I am using the highest resolution with the camera provided by the foundation). I decided that BerryBoot was the solution: The card is untouched and ever...

Re: BerryBoot and rpi-update?

And this kernel cannot be updated (obviously not via sudo apt-get update)? I was unable to find anything about this on the web :-( Edit: I had several issues with corrupted SD-Cards and that is why I used Berryboot. It has the ability to use an USB stick where almost the entire system can be put at....

Re: BerryBoot and rpi-update?

It is me again. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work. After a sudo apt-get upgrade done today I am still left with Linux Garage 3.12.26-rpi-aufs #1 PREEMPT Thu Aug 14 10:48:01 CEST 2014 armv6l I believe that this cannot be the case. Is there something special with berryboot that the rpi does no...

Re: stopping and starting

How to stop motion ? Like this ? #!/bin/sh sudo ps -ef | grep motion | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill Yes, that's generally how I would do it. I usually use the -quit option on kill. Is there any simpler procedure/button to stop (and not kill) motion? I am thinking of a home surveillance system that...

Haven't you solved this "bug" recently by falling back to the number that is nearest to mod 16?

BerryBoot and rpi-update?

I am using a Raspberry B model with BerryBoot (64GB Transcend USB stick and a 4 GB SD card, Sandisk). I have installed BerryBoot (version 2.0) and raspbian wheezy on the USB stick. Currently I have Linux Kueche 3.12.26-rpi-aufs #1 PREEMPT Thu Aug 14 10:48:01 CEST 2014 armv6l and I have run sudo rpi-...

Interrupt programming with python

Sorry for the stupid question but reading all those posts I was not able to answer my question. I have installed a GPIO solution where the door bell is connected (wired) with the GPIO of my raspberry. If someone rings the bell my raspberry has a UP-state in GPIO 17. So far, so good. I want to use th...

Re: Deauthenticated due to local deauth request

No kernel problem at all. I made a simple mistake when installing bridge-utils (I have motion as well as an wifi access point installed in my raspberry). I was not sure which of the interfaces (br0, eth0, wlan0) must have and can have an IP address. Most of the websites that are not written by linux...

Re: Deauthenticated due to local deauth request

I am having the same issue. The surprise is: I used to have an older version of raspbian with no problems at all and switched to a new version (using apt-get update and upgrade) and suddenly, without changing the conf-files, I cannot connect to my access point anymore. I suspect a kernel issue here....

BerryBoot, CPU temperature and powered USB

My SD card got corrupted several times because I am running motion on my Raspberry and constantly reading and writing on my card (64GB SanDisk). SanDisk told me that although they are replacing the card I am using it not for the purpose it was built. So I replaced my OS with BerryBoot and I plugged ...

Re: MMAL Motion - tuning & optimisations

I made a mistake: not an update but an upgrade is necessary. In particular for me "sudo rpi-update" did the job. But now I learned that with other RPi's the problem was only created after installation of the new firmware (see http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=80728&p=596436#p596...

Re: MMAL Motion - tuning & optimisations

Likely next steps are to make a simpler test case to reproduce this so they can debug it, and also give them the option to look at the motion app itself if that's required. Are there any news on that and will the necessary steps be posted here? If it is "only" a firmware issue than I suspect we hav...

What exactly is your option in the conf-file?

Re: MMAL Motion - tuning & optimisations

Same with me. Dozencrows looked at my conf-file and found nothing that could cause the problem. With my conf his RPi was running perfect. Either it is a SD-Card issue or some other package is interfering. What do you suspect?

WLAN, LAN, Bridge and RPi as Wifi-AP

I want to set up my RPi as an Wifi-AP. I do not need DHCP on the Pi, a simple forwarding is ok. So I set up bridge-utils with the following /etc/network/interfaces auto lo iface lo inet loopback #--------- auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.2.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.2.1...

Re: MMAL Motion - tuning & optimisations

Well, I think it is the SD-Card. I had a problem with an earlier card and replaced them by SanDisk (it showed weird behavior). Right now I have a new 64GB card but since yesterday I cannot reboot using terminal (I have to interrupt the power supply). It seems it is not motion-related but has to do w...

@andies - please post the config file that causes your Pi to crash to your public Dropbox folder for me? I'll try running it and see what I get.
Here it is: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/495 ... alcam.conf
