Re: New video demo on the homepage

Was the video demo with Playerx running directly from the console or was it running under X11? Does the GPU have enough processing power to handle interlaced video too, like 1080i?
Will Playerx be released together with the Raspberry Pi?

Re: microphone input?....on rasberry pi

If the SoC was originally designed for mobile phone use, then it seems a bit strange that no microphone input was included? Or is the microphone on a mobile phone supposed to be connected to the SoC DSP core which is not supported on the Raspberry Pi?

Re: Dual monitor

You might try an USB-display adapter. Some of them work with Linux, so they might work on ARM as well on the RPi. What would you use the second display for?

Re: Whats the max speed of the SD card slot ?

<t>The maximum USB2 speed in practice is 25 - 30 MB/s because of the overhead in the protocol so it is tha same as the transfer speed 25 MB/s of standard SD-card readers. Having a faster SD-card reader in the Raspberry Pi with a speed of 50 MB/s or 104 MB/s would allow for a storage performance of a...

Re: Whats the max speed of the SD card slot ?

<t>Cost is obviously your primary concern for the Raspberry Pi, but the speed of the SD-reader is an important factor for the usability of the device. In interactive use the subjective feeling of the speed of a computer is largely determined by the storage system. Even a very slow computer can feel ...

Re: Whats the max speed of the SD card slot ?

<r>Yes, I agree that it would be interesting to know if the SD-interface supports 4-bit transfers mode and what the maximum transfer rate is? According to Wikipedia you can have a transfer rate of 25 MB/s, 104 MB/s or a theoretical maximum of 312 MB/s.<br/> <URL url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.....

Re: Wishes for 2nd gen Raspberry Pi

<r>The current Raspberry Pi looks very promising and nice. I do understand that to meet the target price almost all available features are coming from the SoC. Still I would like to come with a few wishes that would only be relevant for a 2nd generation Raspberry Pi.<br/> <br/> More RAM, 512 or 1024...
