Running Pi Programs on Mac OSX

Hi; I posted this in the advanced users but I am far from one :-) I only have 1 x RPI and thought how can I setup and test programs on another SD Card? I have an external SD card reader (I hacked an internal PC 3.5 one to USB so I could plug it in my Mac!!). What is the easiest way to create a 'Virt...

Errors During Upgrade

As I was having trouble with Jasper.py I thought maybe I should run and update and upgrade? I ssh'd into my RPI Model B from my Mac and ran 'sudo apt-get update' with no errors that I could see, I then ran sudo apt-get upgrade and spotted the following errors, should I worry? (gtk-update-icon-cache:...

Scratch v2.0 on the Pi

Hi;

I have just started to play around with Scratch for my pupils at School, we are using the Online and Offline Versions. Sorry for being slow but is there any site of v2.0 appearing on the RPI?

Thanks

Re: How Long to Write an Image

Hi; As an update I managed to find an old 3.5 Inch PC Internal Card Reader in one of my Garage PC's, there was no cable for it so after a lot of Googling and probing with a Multimeter I managed to connect a USB cable to it. Re: How Long to Write an Image

The card partition was un mounted before trying the dd command and I have tried formating the card using SD Formatter and that too cannot write to the card. I am pretty sure that trying to do this with the card connected to the SD Card Slot on my Kodak Printer connected to either of my Macs (iMac an...

Re: Dalek

Doug; I bought a Raspberry Pi back in March but have not used it for anything yet (other projects tying me up) anyway I had the intention of doing something with it involving DALEKs. Thought i'd start with seeing if it could play sound samples or indeed generate DALEK sounds based on text input firs...

Hi; I am in the process of applying to start a teaching degree at Primary Level, my specialisation will be ITQ. Re: Using a Smartphone Screen

Sorry I may not have been clear. What I meant was if I took the screen out of the phone and IF the screen was still functional is there any way of connecting it to a Pi.
