Hi; I am fitting a RPi 3 in a car and need to get the WiFi working. I have flashed the lastest raspbian Jessie and done an update and upgrade and have two Arrows in the Menu Bar on the Desktop which say wlan0 not associated. I have scoured the various troubleshooting guides and have found the follow...

Extra Long DSI Cable For Touchscreen

Hi; I have an official RPi 7 Inch Touchscreen which I bout with a case for putting in a car. I have now come to realise that having the Pi in the screen case is not such a good idea as it os completely inaccessible. The main issue is the SD Card cannot be changed without disconnecting the DSI cable....

Jessie image download won't unpack

Hi;

I just downloaded the latest version of Jessie.zip.

It downloads and then archives into a .cpgz file. If you try to open this it just creates another copy of the zip file? If you open the zip file it creates another .cpgz file?

How do I get the image file :-(

Fix Corrupted SD Card

Hi; I have an RPi 3 with a 7 Inch Touchscreen that I am fitting in a car. It has been working fine then today I installed it in the dashboard and now it no longer works. I removed the pi from the dash to test it in the house. It switched it on using a standard power supply and just got a red LED. Th...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV

I know this is a Pi forum but wouldn't it be much easier to use a PC/Mac/IPad to do the broadcasting? Esp as I expect most of your viewers to be using one of them to watch and listen to it :) But if not, I'd try using VLC and see if that would do the job Hence the reason for posting this in the Pi ...

Raspberry Pi TV

Hi; I have been thinking of things for our kids to do in school at lunch time and thought of starting a School Radio Channel and then thought - why not make a TV channel that can be viewed over the LAN. First I thought I could just simply use mjpg streamer but then realised 'what about the audio'. A...

Re: Recommended Track or Wheeled Chassis

Thanks for the link but I am looking for an aluminium version. I was browsing the web last night and found one that I liked it was metal, blue and either tracked or chunky wheels. The base had tonnes of pre drilled holes. I can't for the life of me find it now even looked through my history. These a...

Recommended Track or Wheeled Chassis

Hi, can anyone recommend me a robot chassis for a Raspberry Pi based robot. Not too small. Preferably tracked to negotiate door jams and carpets. Reasonably meety motors.

Any recommendations and suppliers?

Thanks

Re: How To Stop a Servo Juddering

Servos need accurately timed pulses to stop them twitching. If you can use a module which uses hardware timed pulses, example are pigpio, servoblaster, RPIO.GPIO. gpiozero should be able to use pigpio as a backend. joan; I re-wrote my code using pigpio (which I have used before on one of my robots)...

How To Stop a Servo Juddering

Hi; I have recently started using gpiozero to light LEDs with my after school club and for the next step I wanted to get the children controlling some 9g Micro Servos that I have lots of. I have just been testing out some code to control the motors (heck I even write my own :-)) #!/usr/bin/env pytho...

Gpiozero Python 2 and 3

Hi; I am setting up some Pi SD Cards for teaching and want to use gpiozero. I am using a custom install of Jessie Lite with a Desktop and NuScratch. I have installed Python3. At first I thought that gpiozero would be installed by default for both python 2 and 3, however whenever I tried to import an...

Re: Accessing GPIO Pins when a HAT is fitted

on looking at the back of the 7 Inch Touchscreen I remembered that 3 of the GPIO pins are in use as it is wired to power the Pi from the Touchscreen. ?? As you have a Pi3, the only connections needed between the Pi and display are +5V, GND, and the ribbon cable. Getting the 5V and GND to the displa...

Re: Accessing GPIO Pins when a HAT is fitted

Looking at this I guess some of my option are: 1. Power the Pi and the Screen individually (still doesn't free up any GPIO Pins). 2. Try and wire the pHAT up using Dupont connectors and secure the pHAT somewhere else in the case but I need to know what GPIO pins the pHAT uses? Fitting the pHAT somew...

Accessing GPIO Pins when a HAT is fitted

Hi; Bottom Line Up Front: How can I access my GPIO pins wit a HAT fitted? I need a little help here please. Improving Audio Output

Hi; Mixed question but both are linked. I am building an In Car Entertainment system using an RPi 3 and 7 Inch Touchscreen. For audio at the moment I am running a lead from the 3.5mm audio out of the RPi to an Aux In on my radio (its a hack into the CD audio lines). There are a couple of issues that...

I had a hunch that was the case. I never figured it out. I hardly ever ran KODI on that Pi so I just gave up. I have another Pi with a dedicated LibreElect/KODI install that I play my tunes on. Wish I could be more help. I hope there is a fix as I wanted to use other features of Raspbian for my in ...

Re: Disabling Screen Blanking 7 Inch Touchscreen

KODI stand alone, or run from Raspbian? I had a similar issue trying to run KODI from Raspbian. It would just lock up when the screen blanked and not come back. No such issue if I run it via OPENELECT though. This is Kodi run from within Rasbian not standalone. I wanted Raspbian for other things in...
