I'm not sure you can get a command line without XBMC running in openelec. You are right, XBMC has to be stopped. Now I have $ cec-client No device type given. Re: Properly shutting down the RPi when switching off tv

Hi masterluke, I don't thing this is the right way to shut-down the Pi properly. Why: When shut-down, Pi sends the CEC signal at the very beginning of the process. TV will takes 1 or 2 seconds to shut-down and USB power at the same time. Pi takes 5 to 10 seconds. Maybe it will be worse because Pi wi...

Re: CECanyway

Well done masterluke! As it looks very easy to install it, I tried following your post. Copy/past each line. All went good. Howerver, it's not working. I have an Denon AVR-2313, "HDMI control" is on. When I press any button on the remote nothing happen in the Raspbmc menu at any place in the menu. A...

Re: CECanyway

I had a mail from Magnus Kulke:
i added instructions for compilation on raspbmc to the readme, however, if you like to try that.
If you use it, have a look or contact him.

If you use Openelec I'd be interested by your process but I was told it's not easy at all, it's why I gave up.

Good luck

Re: 5.1 Audio

dom,
5.1 is currently only supported for passthrough modes of DTS and AC3.
Do you mean any type of DTS (Sampling rate, Bit depth, Format settings, Endianness, .flac, .dts, packed in WAV, ...) ?
I have some file paying fine and other not. At this time I try to sum up what is good or not.

HDMI-CEC without CEC display (No root device)

Hi, I want to use my RPi as a media centre mainly to listen music. I have a Denon AVR-2313: 1- connected to RPi via HDMI and 2- connected to a monitor via HDMI-DVI. As there is not CEC-TV, CEC doesn't work. (For your information: This is the way the genius designers build the CEC standard!!! Very cl...
