Re: retroflag NESpi

No nothing to suggest really, I use a PS3 controller, works well, I also have a couple of the retroflag usb ones, they are fair. Yea simple from a hardware point of view. I run retropie on it, there is loads you can tweak and play with on that though, getting decent rom sets is a task in it's self. ...

Re: retroflag NESpi

Hi, The case has two modes, for safe shutdown you need to install a little bit of code, it's fairly simple and easy to adapt. The fan is really quite noisy, I think because it is mounted directly on the case, a little bit of paper between it and the case may help, not sure how effective it is, it do...

Re: Choppy replay with TV uHat on pi zero w

Thanks for the replies. However, I'm not trying to watch TV on the same pi as has the TV card. I'm just using the zero for the tvheadend server part. I'm running kodi on another machine. The same other machine that works fine if I run the server on a pi 3 rather than a pi zero, Apologies ! I have a...

Re: Rpi3 B SSD boots but won't reboot....?

Hi,

The same discussion as been taking place here viewtopic.php?f=29&t=229228

The culprit is likely to be the SATA -> USB adapter you are using, I have the same drive as you and it works fine.

Re: PIVPN on Stretch with Android OpenVPN Connect

Hi, Certainly on the Pi side we are the same, for the Android client I use OpenVPN for Android by Arne Schwabe. Maybe create a test user with a simple 1 letter password for testing, you can always revoke that account once you have it working. If you have installed from scratch I found this that may ...

Re: Pi Hut 3D Xmas Tree, and many GPIO questions

Hi, I've just ordered one of these, it's arriving maybe tomorrow. Having read the docs, on your daughters setup, you didn't set a program to run at boot did you ? That may explain the dual running symptoms you were seeing ? Only a guess as I'm not there yet. Also did you see this page ? http://pkula...

Re: Choppy replay with TV uHat on pi zero w

Hi, I think the instructions state that for playback a Pi 3 is recommended, getting the MPEG-2 key may help for SD channels.. If you want to watch TV on the Pi itself, we recommend using a Pi 2, 3, or 3B+, as you may need more processing power for this. https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-...

Re: Unable to Boot RPI 3B from SSD disk

Hi,

I had no issues with cold boot, only rebooting when it would hang, changing the adapter worked for me, the case I got was only 6UKP, it may not be the greatest quality but it works and that is good enough for me. Good luck !

Re: PIVPN on Stretch with Android OpenVPN Connect

Hi, It's not something silly like an incorrectly typed pass phrase is it ? Did you generate new users for OVPN ? Copying the files from your old installation wont work, you have to start again. I'm running the same as you and have no issues.. OpenVPN 2.4.0 arm-unknown-linux-gnueabihf [SSL (OpenSSL)]...

Re: Unable to Boot RPI 3B from SSD disk

Hi, Is your pi failing to reboot or cold boot ? My own experience here is that the type of SATA --> USB controller will dictate whether reboot works or not, nothing on the OS side will help if it does not work, one thing you may want to try if you have one if attach a USB hub and connect the drive t...

Re: f2fs-tools version

Hi, You can use apt version pinning to get packages from the later releases, you need to be careful though as it can cause mayhem, for this though it would be OK... Me. EDIT:- This what I used as a reference, you will have to take into account the new release names but it worked fine for me. https:/...

Re: Kodi crashes on start (logfile)

Hi,

Is this installed from the repository?

Kodi needs lots of gfx memory, 192mb from memory, and you are forced to use the legacy OpenGL driver, the new drivers will cause issues....

My advice would be to stear clear and use one of the distros for Kodi.

TV HAT Missing channels.

Hi, Again, although really a TVHeadend tweak, this may help people who have just brought the TV HAT. I chose not to use the raspbain repository version of TVHeadend, rather I followed some instructions that used this as a source: https://github.com/mpmc/tvheadend/wiki/Info-for-Bintray I am tuned to ...

TV HAT, missing EPG info.

Hi, Although really a TVHeadend tweak, this may help people who have just brought the TV HAT. You may have noticed that the channel listings (EPG Info) for the UK HD channels and I think Film 4 are missing. The fix is quite simple, by default TVHeadend does not enable the UK Freeview EPG Grabber, en...

Hi,

Is there a way to turn off the TV HATs power indicator via software or do I have to go old skool and get the blu-tack out ?

TIA,

Hi, I've been looking at compiling this, the first thing I found was that with make -j4 I ran out of memory, even with -j3 it would start to swap, -j2 worked OK. Hi, It looks as if it is a long running issue.... https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/1522675 I have seen the same issue here on a fresh install of the October release on a 3B,,, This post has zero to do with your 3B running Raspbian, this post is relating to Debian x86 Stretch ...
