Re: F2FS image available for testing

Hi, It could be the enclosure, I have had a couple over the years that the Pi will refuse to boot from, I never really dug in to why... I have been booting off of USB since I first got my PiB back in 2013.... When I say booting from, root on usb at least... You could try the special bootcode.bin fil...

Re: F2FS image available for testing

Hi,

I suppose the full image may eat some extra resources over the lite, how much though I wouldn't like to guess, also updates will bigger as you will be bringing in the desktop stuff, VLC chromium and the like.

Sounds like it maybe worthwhile investing the time in making a lite image.....

Re: F2FS image available for testing

Hi, This is a full image... Not sure if the conversion script works on an external drive, I suppose you could convert an sd card and then maybe use RonRs other tools to move it to the SSD, or failing that convert the image back it up and then restore to SSD. If you need a full image it may be easier...

Re: Changing the i2c-adress from a RTC

Hi, It looks like you can change that address but you will need a soldering iron. There are 3 solder pads; A0, A1 & A2 linking a combination of these will change the address, you will need to read the data sheet to know what pads to link though.... Edit. Apologies, the pads appear to be for the epro...

Hi, Does the sensor stay connected, can you read values from it manually? There are reports here that some sensors randomly disconnect, from what is said it sounds like the sensor not the Pi. The desktop editions of RaspiOS auto-mount removable media. Disable auto-mounting for the duration of the conversion process.
Perfect, cheers, appreciated!!

Edit:-
Disabled auto-mount and away it went, again, great stuff Ron, cheers the the help and especially the utilities !

Am using mostly these Eluteng Blue for my NAS, I've brought 3 this year, the last, last month all have worked a charm and not missed a beat, the oldest is on my Pi4 that is my daily driver desktop. I put that into service in Feb, it's still running the same install, no restore or re-image required,...

Re: Ubuntu Desktop on Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian)

Hi,

If you install the Cinnamon desktop you can get some themes that will get you close to what ubuntu looks like, it won't be true ubuntu though.

I would probably only recommend Cinnamon when running off an ssd on a Pi4 4Gb, compared to PiOS it uses a few more horses, well worth it though....
