Re: Amiga Emulation - only Disk or black screen

Took me a while to get this going.. Thanks to some assistance from the RetroPie guys, I was able to finally get things working.. Hope this saves you the hour or two of frustration I spent.. http://ledgerlabs.us/raspberrypi/retropie-amiga-emulation/ I'm working on a little script to automate the link...

Re: you tube vids

I've tried several ways to play Youtube videos with the Raspberry Pi.

Raspytube isn't bad, but Minimal Kiosk Web Browser is by far my favorite way as it's fast and works more like we are used to on full PCs.

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.14 released

James, Nice find! I tried it over here, using dosbox to run install.exe. Choosing Adlib only provides a very nice playing experience. I'm overclocked to 900mhz (if that makes a difference) but I didn't need to use the -f0. The digitized speed does really add to the game, so I'm also hoping to see im...

Today's Rpix86 Pick: Warcraft Orcs & Humans

Assume the roles of the devious Orcs and wimpy Humans and battle it out in the real time strategy game. If you've never played this one, you've really missed something! This game works near flawlessly in the current version of rpix86. Just like the Startrek game, there are two versions of the game c...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.14 released

@Pate Ah, I completely missed that! I'm not sure if it's working correctly. I've created a simple loopback wire between GPIO TX and RX. In minicom I can echo my characters with no problem. (Anyone who does this will also need to adjust initab and cmdline.txt to make sure /dev/ttyAMA0 is open) In Pro...

Amazing! (and I had work to get done today!)

Feature request: Any chance we could get a -s command to hook us to /dev/ttyAMA0?

My daughter and I discovered something cool about this patch today.

If you create a new world with the survival patch, then exit and load minecraft-pi, you'll get a world that you can create in, complete with animals.

Best game controller for Rpi?

I'm curious. What is the common consensus for best game controller for the Raspberry Pi? I'm currently using a wired (USB) Xbox360 controller, but have found it to be sadly lacking when used with rpix86. I see another recent thread for a USB Atari joystick converted, but it appears to be problematic...

Today's Rpix86 Pick: Startrek 25th Aniversary Edtion

Boldly go where no man has gone before... Startrek 25th Anniversary Edition works perfectly on the Raspberry Pi using Rpix86. I've tested both the Disk and CD versions (CD version includes the voices of the original cast.) and wrote up a howto here . The game is abandonware, but can be obtained inex...

Wing Commander 1&2 under rpix86

A little Christmas treat to myself from Gog.com (Good Old Games) Wing Commander 1+2 is $2.99 and works better on the Raspberry Pi than on the PC using rpix86. You'll have to delete the digital speech files from Wing Commander 2. All other configuration is already perfect for use on the Pi. I wrote u...

Midori is slow, but I don't think it's as slow as OP described. Have you tried a fresh SD card? Ah, and yes Midori is slow. I'm using Luakit ( sudo apt-get install luakit ) as my browser. It's fast enough to on an slightly overclocked pi to provide a pleasant browsing experience. (minus flash of cou...

Re: #CPC4Rpi - Amstrad CPC 6128 emulator

I put my $1.39 donation in the box, but I'm not a huge fan of the PiStore. (I'm an old school apt-get guy), so I'll get it installed (hopefully) from there, but I'd still like to know how I could have solved the missing file.

Thanks.

Is there an alternative to getting this from the PiStore? Growing up in North America, I was never exposed to the Amstrad computer. Patrick,

First of all, thank you for your efforts in this program! It runs lean and fast compared to the alternatives. I'm definitely a fan!
A request.. Any chance of getting Virtual Memory support in the near future which would allow Command & Conquer to work?

Re: Minecraft Survial Mode Patch

I've added a little more complete how-to about this here:
http://www.ledgerlabs.us/raspberrypi/mi ... patch.html

Make you have your original minecraft-pi installed in the /home/pi/mcpi folder already. This is where the patch will be applied.

Re: Minecraft Survial Mode Patch

Assuming you have minecraft-pi installed aready, you should see an mcpi directory at:

/home/pi/mcpi

and it should contain the minecraft-pi binary the patch is looking for. Dump the patch into the same folder.

Re: Minecraft Survial Mode Patch

Maybe it's the way that you are getting the file itself to the pi.

try removing and replacing the file with this.

rm suvival.bsdiff
wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/iutdy9yrtg3cg ... val.bsdiff

then try it again..

bspatch minecraft-pi mcpipatched survival.bsdiff
