Re: GAMES LIST: Games That Work On The Pi

I don't see penguinspuzzle listed. I have my remote mapped to keyboard buttons (for XBMC), so I play it with my remote lol. Direction Pad on remote = arrow keys Rewind button = R (restarts the level) Play Button = Spacebar (switch penguins) Back button = Escape (exit the game) http://penguinspuzzle....

Re: OpenArena on Raspbian?

I know I am bumping a old thread. Anyone know why OpenArena is so much more slower that Q3A? I would say atleast ~70% slower. Even tweaking the config does not help much. My tweaked Q3A install hardly ever drop's below 40fps. Where as OpenArena sometimes manages to dip down in the single digit's! It...

Re: What age is too young for a Pi

You want *MY* opinion? Your children are to young. They have their whole lifes to fiddle with electronic's. But you are only a "child" for a short time. Let em be kid's and enjoy the wonder's of outdoor's. I have a much younger brother who's nose is stuck in his xbox 90% of the time he is awake and ...

Re: Duplicate entries on XBMC using MySQL

I was having the same problem. But then I learned not to add sources on the 2nd Pi. All it needs is the advancedsettings.xml that points to your mysql server.

Re: GPIO Lirc kernel support

You are talking about Arch right? /etc/modules needed to be created on my arch install, but I dont think arch even looks at that file, as it used files stored in "/etc/modules-load.d/" to load modules manually.

GPIO Lirc kernel support

I would like to add GPIO lirc support, but to my understanding the kernel is not built with this. How daunting of a task is it to build the kernel with this support in? Kernel 3.6.11? I did find a guide here , but I am not sure how out of date it is, or if some parts needs changed for a arch kernel ...

Maybe upload your retroarch.cfg too. It looks like it should be working.

Re: retroarch.cfg troubles

Does your controller work when you test it? I am guessing yes if it works via emulationstation. jstest /dev/input/js0 Your retroarch config command looks correct to me. But maybe try this one to see if it does anything different? ./retroarch-joyconfig -o p1.cfg -p 1 -j 0 sudo cat p*.cfg >> ~/RetroPi...

Re: Quake 3 Arena at 60 FPS

I compiled q3a on Rasbian with the patch above applied. Download here . Upload/Unpack the files to your pi anywhich way you prefer. I used SCP. Make sure to add your own pak files to the baseq3 directory. Set Permissions on ioquake3.arm/ioq3ded.arm chmod +x Q3A/ioquake3.arm chmod +x Q3A/ioq3ded.arm ...

XBMC not honoring overscan settings (/boot/config.txt)?

I started my XBEAN install from scratch. Previously, my "boot/config.txt" settings were applying just fine on the old install. Now they are not being applied to XBMC. If I drop back to command line (cli) I can see the overscan settings of "/boot/config.txt" are being honored. Just not in XBMC, which...

Restart xbmc with script?

I recently installed retropie on Xbian. I need a script to possibly restart xbmc, without su permissions. I will be launching this script via emulationstation and a keyboard will not be plugged in. I know xbmc can restarted with "sudo service xbmc start". But is there a way to do it without sudo? So...

XBMC+Gaming/emulators+Web Browser - in Kiosk sorta mode?

I would like to launch into XBMC by default, then have a shortcut to open EmulationStation/Retroarch and a Web Browser and vice versa from each app. If the web browser is closed, then return to default (XBMC). Not sure what OS to to use, but I would like for it to be lean. I have seen a couple video...
