Re: What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

The source is available for those who have the know how. It would be nice if we could subsitute mng support for something more widely used, such as avi/mp4, and fix the sound.

Re: What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

I really liked that intro video. All these nice frontends for Windows mostly. Linux has a couple nice open source ones but from what I gather they are heavy on resources/dependencies. Are these really the only option's? Advmenu - starting to show age? Can be a pain to configure. EmulationStation - p...

Re: What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

I found a combo that works if you are interested. I downloaded some mp4's from emumovies (or you can make your own in mame32). Renamed them to avi, and converted with VGM2 . It will spit out a mnq and wav. I converted the wav to mp3 with LameDropXPd . Only problem is some of the movies from emumovie...

Re: What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

Agree'd. I rather like the video preview/animations you can make. But they are kinda lifeless with sound disabled. Emulationstation does not have a animation/video feature that I know of. Lots of custimization option's in advmenu. Took a bit to wrap my head around the cfg file. Pretty neat consideri...

What's up with audio in advmenu (advancemenu)?

I am finally getting around to testing advmenu.
Sound is terrible. I had to disable it for now. I googled a ton, but didn't find any real fixes. Any one figure out why it sounds so bad? Same issue on 1.5 and 1.6. Tried changing some settings to no avail. Tested mp3 and wav.

Re: Unvanquished FPS

Look's like the requirement's say a 2GHz cpu. The pi comes stock at 700Mhz. Even overclocking to 1GHz, it is only half of the requirement. So I think not.

Re: EmulationStation - Omxplayer = simple media player

Very quick. No X needed.
I even set the memory split to 64mb for a quick test. Played a 1920x1080 (1080p) mkv just fine. That same file would not play in XBMC (black screen, audio only) if set to 64mb. XBMC need's roughly ~109mb of gpu memory with hd content, thus most set the memory split to 128mb.

EmulationStation + Omxplayer = simple media player

It looks something like this. Click for bigger image. http://s12.postimg.org/nlm7jq9ft/IMG_20131113_092336.jpg I already had emulationstation (for my emulators) and omxplayer installed. You can add a boxart picture and description. For some people, that's all they need. Example code below. es_system...

Re: RetroPie: Can't exit out of SNintendo games

I was having the same problem, even though I had it working fine in the past. This is what I figured out to fix it. This is the correct way it should look. Notice a space after [btn] and between [=]. A space between [=] and ["]. And yes the input number should be in quotes. I am not sure if the orde...

Recording on the Pi with ffmpeg

I seem to be able to record "/dev/fb0" just fine as long as I am sitting at the terminal and nothing else opens. But what do other none "X" application's use? XBMC? EmulationStation? I thought xbmc attatched it's self to the framebuffer? Example of the command I am using to record the framebuffer. f...

1.3.1 uploaded. Tested. Boot's fine.

If you run one of the script's from emulationstation and it throw's you back to emulationstation, then exit emulationstation with [F4] and try again. Should work fine after that.

Re: Street Fighter 3 Alpha possible?

The libretro core (Retroarch) for fba runs it a little slow. But playable. Best stick with piFBA, which runs it very smooth. Mame4all-pi and imame4all both emulate MAME 0.37b5, which does not support SFA3. Edit: So many different options for mame, that it can be confusing. Retroarch - fba-libretro R...

Re: [11/05/13] UltraSlim - Retro Gaming + Q3A + Desktop + XB

I have had it happen but not everytime. It's rare. Usually when I exit XBMC, emulationstation load's up just fine afterwords. If you are having it happen everytime, then I suspect something else is wrong. It will also show that problem if no roms at all are detected. But if you are using the setup I...
