Re: Windows 8 RT and Windows IoT BootLoader

Hey guys, sorry for the bump, but has any progress been made on loading rt on the pi? I suspect since there's only about three people in the world interested in getting WinRT running that it's never going to happen. The folks who own the code (Microsoft) appear to have no desire to do it and since ...

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

Fight, fight, fight! Seriously though, what I've observed so far is that _some_ settings from config.txt seem to take effect in bootcode.bin, some in start.elf, and some in the kernel or later in the boot process. The file is available to all of them, so no reason to believe they wouldn't mak...

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

Excuse me, but how does stuff like gpu_mem=xxx, disable_camera_led=1, hdmi_safe=1, decode_MPG2=0x12345678 etc. work if the config.txt isn't read by the GPU code? You're wrong! GPU_mem settings are readed by the bootcode, HDMI, camera, and video stuff are by start.elf. The file is parsed multiple ti...

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

What happens if you add dtoverlay=mmc to config.txt in your first primary FAT partition? start.elf doesn't care about DT at all, those are interpreted by the Linux kernel BZZT! Wrong. There's a whole bunch of the config.txt stuff that's read and interpreted by the "firmware" not the kernel. config....

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

The Big and Nasty Blob(also known as start.elf) tries to use SDIO instead of MMC to read the kernel from SD :o Is there a chance in frozen hell this could ever be corrected somehow, so start.elf can actually use MMC to read it? Right now I just feel remarkably stupid that I bought these MMC cards (...

Re: 128MB RS-MMC can't boot w/ any config - 7 blink at best

Worth calling out in its own reply... Aside from blink codes, is there any other way to get debug info out of the start.elf file? I have a small army of debug tools (Arduino for I/O parsing, a Bus Pirate, a cheap Chinese jtagice knockoff, scope, and I think even a PC-connected logic analyzer), at m...

That would likely have a huge impact on what I plan to do with graphics.
The RPi is DirectX 10(9Ex profile) and OpenGL 2.1 capable with current drivers, it may even get better in the future :)

On a Pi0 you can use Windows Embedded Compact 7.
Windows 7 ran on ARMv6, at least on the Tegra APX2500, which was an ARM11 :) but MS didn't release it...(I think that a Windows 10 ARM port won't take much, as it's forward-porting from Win7)

Don't run an UWP app as admin. Run a Win32 server daemon and get the UWP app to talk with it I should have made that clearer in the original post.
