Re: TIP122 and LED strip, ON/OFF is OK, not PWM [SOLVED/WORK

I don't think so. The led's can draw up to 150mA per led. This brings the total up to 4.5A for 30 led's.
The maximum current you can switch using a 2n2222a is about 850mA, so a maximum of 5/6 leds.

Re: Tablet for Screen

You could try and connect a USB OTG adapter to the USB port and use a mouse instead of the touchscreen. To use it as a display for a raspberry pi, I think it's better to leave it like it is and use something like vnc over wifi. I don't think you could connect the display to the Raspberry pi in any o...

Re: In Car Entertainment

That power supply should do the job just fine I think. I don't think the power usage of the whole system is going to be more than 3A (except maybe when you use the camera, the screen and the pi on full load at the same time). As for the OS, you could use kodi on top of Raspbian. In raspbian you can ...

You could also have a look at the Gert VGA 666 breakout board.
As for the screen format, there should be no problem to use it like that.

Well, is it wise?
No, as you'll have to spend money, which you could use for other accessories.

I think, for beginners it's good to use a board which is very good documented. So they can get started in the world of SOC. :D As for more advanced users, I think it could be a challenge to get the other boards running (as good as the raspberry pi) and see what advantages they have for specific proj...

Re: TIP122 and LED strip, ON/OFF is OK, not the PWM

Can you connect a single led (with resistor) to the pin and see if it dims?
If not, there is probably no PWM coming out of this pin.
Can you post your code? :)

Re: Accessing a database to display on a web page

If you want to change the content live, I think you should use AJAX.
You could also write a php file, which reads the database and creates a webpage. Here, it will only change when you reload the page.

Re: Raspberry pi 3 as USB device

No you can't.
The processor supports usb device, but the only usb port on the processor is linked to the USB hub, which doesn't let you use it as a device.
The only Raspberry pi you can use as a device is a zero. (Maybe a A+, but I'm not sure).

Re: Exposing Raspberry pi to ouside world

Ah, Belgium. :D

What I have done to our modem (scarlet) is DMZ to the router. This way, the router does all firewall/port forwarding options.
Telenet was known for closing random ports, but I think they stopped doing that. ;)

Well, It could be that the modem of your ISP also has a firewall where you need to enable port forwarding (or enable DMZ on the IP address of your router). :)

Raspbian jessie lite has a lot less packages in total. Not just x and the GUI.
If you want to use those, you'll have to install them yourself. ;)

Piscreen driver datasheet

Hello everyone, I have a 3.5 inch screen which works with the Piscreen drivers on raspbian. I would like to write a driver in assembler for this display. (Just for fun :D ) The problem is that I can't find any datasheet of the LCD used on this screen. PS. I've got SPI working, so I don't think it sh...
