I use this adapter http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ahdmi%20to%20dvi-d%20adapter which should be the same as shown in link above. I have tested the pi 2 on a hdmi display and it worked. Then I tested pi 2 on a dvi d dual link display. I get no picture. So you cannot use pi 2 on...

Re: can java applications run on pi 2?

Thank you. What about security if you do not install the latest Java JDK?
Is the java in raspbian updated? Can you extract java from raspbian? If i2p requires javafx for best performance, it is the same thing if it is installed on a server?

Re: can java applications run on pi 2?

Thank you. I am not very technical. Can you explain what javafx does? Does lack of javafx make some java applications not work or only slower? I want to use pi 2 as a server. System arkos. I do not know if arkos comes with java, and javafx. Is javafx also beneficial if pi 2 is a server? I want to us...

gpio to power supply pi 2?

On wikipedia it says, you can power supply 5V via MicroUSB or GPIO header.
Can you power supply pi 2 by connecting a power supply to 2 gpio pins? Which are they?
Are gpio pins the same as hdd ide pins?
Thank you.

can java applications run on pi 2?

I have read, that java applications are not able to work well on pi. It should be a matter of java applications use to much ram. Does that apply for the pi 2? I also read that some settings can enable pi 2 to perform better on java applications. Correct? On pi 2 I would want to install i2p on arkos....

Sometimes when you hear people say, they got surprised because they had not expected that many sharp reactions on something they said or wrote. And you say why not? I did not expect it about my post. It shows that somehow this subject matters. Maybe I contributed because I refereed to fsf and wrote ...

Thank you for answering. About 1 The card is close to new. But according to the sd carte white list, it could be one of them, that cannot be used. About 2 Busted hardware, I do not know what you mean. If not ejected means, you have to eject the sd card before removing it from the desktop, I did that...

Connect dvi display to Raspberry?

I have searched for an answer on this forum.
Can you connect any dvi display to the pi's hdmi port, using a dvi hdmi adapter and get a picture?
If it works, can you at the same time get the audio from the pi's sound connector?
Thanks.

arkos.io homeserver

https://arkos.io/

I do not have a raspberry pi.

Arkos is a premature raspberry pi project about getting a homeserver.

A raspberry user who would want to install arkos, and in a video show what it can at this point of development?

Thank you.
