Re: Audio transfer between RPis

I think it would be interesting to see the difference in delay when using an analog link versus a network link. The network link (rtp say) uses UDP, so there would be a small amount of network translation delay, however depending on the level of control on the size of the audio blocks transmitted, ...

Re: Pi vs arduino

At the lowest level the code is converted on all these systems to a set of 1's and 0's which is then used to control the hardware to perform the correct operation. Assembly is generally an abstraction of that level (remembering and typing the set of 1's and 0's for an add instruction would become s...

Re: Audio transfer between RPis

Dear all, To perform a particular project, I need to capture and process input sound by a RPi and then send the processed sound through a sound cable to a second RPi to playback the recorded sound. Since RPi does not have input port to capture the sound, I have used external USB sound card for this...

Re: Hotswap usb thumb drive

Raspbian Jessie will automount USB drives in the GUI much the same way as Windows. On removal, Raspbian will complain if you don't first press the eject button on the task bar. And there in lies the same issues that mac has. Windoze users will shove drives in and pull them out any old way because t...

It's a BT/Wifi 2 in one device.
I need the BT for the handsfree phone side but I'm wondering if thats the cause.

Edit:
Yup the BT combo was the problem, but now I just have to solve the hiss.

Re: Bluetooth audio streaming

I think there was an issue with Kodi depending on the version of iOS on your phone. I can't remember the exact seeing on Kodi but you needed to disable the video/picture option for Airplay. It works but very choppy. Will switch back to the mono wifi adapter and try again later. I'm sure I read abou...

Re: Basic touch screen info search

Touchscreens contain a screen and a digitiser laid on the front. The buttons can be physical or virtual. Physical buttons are controlled separate to the screen, Virtual buttons are the GUI (Graphical User Interface) created in software. There are so many different languages and methods to create the...

You may be better off just using Kodi's Airplay functionality. I can only mirror out to a tv from kodi. I have the phone connecting and sending audio (for goes silent but track is still playing) but nothing comes out of the pi. Not sure if the reciever is dropping out due to power issues. It looks ...

Use "sudo" to do things as admin/root/superuser. sudo nano /etc/default/kodi Thank you for the reply topguy! Even with sudo it does not seem to work. "sudo edit/etc/default/kodi" even "sudo etc/default/kodi" It gives me a "Permission denied" "No Permission to file" error. Its very strange. That won...

Very Cool.
Back in the day of the BBC, Commodore and the Spectrum there was a lego technic card dealing robot. I made an update for it with building plans but never learned how to code. it.
Maybe time to dig out the old plans.

Server/ slave system media center.

I am in the process of setting up and mediacenter in my car using a Pi2B (using kodi) and wondered if it was possible to have zero's with there own screens acting as slaves to the Pi2B drawing video/music from it, but having the 2b have master control over the zero's content/soundlevels/settings? Re: SSD1306 OLED headless system monitor

Silly question, how did you connect this to the raspberry pi? Initially when testing, I used a breadboard and jumper wire. When I was happy with everything, I soldered up a Y-cable like wille. I've since managed to cram it all inside the case with the assistance of some heavy duty double sided tape...

Re: Geotagging Photos from DSLR

The problem is that the camera need to "Unmount the card" before the raspberry pi can mount it. The only exception is if the camera supports "Tethering" which may allow access to the card to edit the photos. Commercial GPS tagging using an inbuilt GPS receiver or by communication with a GPS addon vi...

Issue command on start up.

I worked it out before on the MK1B raspberry pi but long since forgotten.
I need to issue

Code: Select all

sudo gpsd /dev/ttyACM0 -F /var/run/gpsd.sock/
On startup as the deamon will not start normally.
This is my question.

Where do I put the command as I have forgotten which file it goes in!
