Re: Use internet

What's the error? My 11 year old son has a raspberry pi. We've plugged in a wifi dongle and the Pi is connected to our home network. However, we can't just use the internet. We've clicked on Midori, it comes up with all the right looking stuff, then when we type in a web address, a complete error co...

CPC No stock until end of month

The nice lady at CPC has just told my co-worker that he cannot have his Pi2 until the end of the month at the earliest as there was a fault on the last batch and "they all went back"

Is this true?

Now I know why it was out of stock. I should have been more patient.
Anyone need a spare B+?

Only joking, I'm sure I will find a use for it.

Re: B+ Out of stock

RS have 24,000 B+ units in stock. Doesn't look like a shortage to me. Unfortunately I have had very bad experiences with RS and RPIs, so am very reluctant to use them anymore. I have now ordered one from Amazon as above and have canceled my back order with CPC - which they did with no difficulty. Leo

That's odd. I know for a fact that Farnell have plenty in stock: http://uk.farnell.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=15001&urlLangId=44&langId=44&productId=81092912&storeId=10151 and that's just their UK site... B+ Out of stock

CPC have just informed me that they will be able to dispatch a newly ordered B+ on 30/03/2015
Pimorini are showing out of stock too.
Is there some sort of component shortage again?

Re: Need to pick the collective brains here

I have a similar application running using the excellent picamera library in Python. The program is started by cron each night and loops until it is light enough. It then uses scp to copy each image to another server where the images are assembled into a video each night. Once the light level drops ...

Try them both and see which one you prefer.
Personally I use Raspbmc because it is easier to hack / modify for my preferences.

If the support on this card is as good as for the original, my advice is not to touch it with a barge poll.

Future Support / Development for Pi Camera

I'm dismayed to see that two of the developers of much wonderful stuff for the Camera have been made redundant from Broadcom, Presumably they no longer have access to the tools required for any changes.

How is this impacting on the future of the Camera and other stuff?

Re: Wolfson aux power in to power RPi

As it comes, the aux power is just to power the onboard amplifier. There is a link on the board that can be soldered in that will allow it power the Pi. However this is unsupported. having said that, the support for the card is shocking - non-existent in fact. For peer support, go to http://www.elem...

Re: New Raspberry Pi Camera Videos

watched the video streaming one and it's good. However issuing a kill -9 is a bit brutal!.
You could have issued a killall <programname> command or better still fg would have brought the program into the foreground again and then ctrl/c would end it properly.

Good luck getting an answer to this! The card does indeed seem excellent audio quality, but there are issues with the software and almost complete lack of documentation. Not to mention pretty much zero support. I have basically given up with the card. Will perhaps have another look in some months ti...
