Thanks for those. Is the pi0 the zero or an earlier pi?
Can we get something from the board itself to tell us what it is to match to the switches?

Re: Compiler options
Is there anywhere there is a list of (raspbian) compiler switches suitable for maximum performance or possible optimisations for each version of the pi? These would be really helpful for a lot of us for getting other packages working.

Re: Does Swap partition help for Rasberry Pi?
Now the Pi3 etc can boot from mass storage devices I would imagine swap will be fun. I have a USB drive on order and will stick a 4G swap on it. I dont anticipate using the swap much but I do do some large jobs from time to time that fail on the Pi.

timidity a2jmidid realtime
Using a Pi3 to play with music synthesis with jackd. The sound quality from qsynth/fluidsynth is appalling for some reason. I can get good sound quality from timidity and using a2jmidid to create the jack connections but a2jmidid complains it cant do realtime on the timidity and while the setup most...

Re: a2jmidid and Jack problems
OK - the basic raspbian comes with Jack and Jack2 installed. QjackCtl is, by default, configured to launch jackd (not jack2) which it does successfully and is easy to manage from the QjackCtl gui interface. The raspbian version of a2jmidid is compiled to run on jack2 and if this is launched by hand ...

I have used Qjackctl and several programs (Calf plugin pack, Aeolus, Zynaddsubfc and Yoshimi )to create music quite happily using JACK Keyboard etc -all playing happily through a cheap 16bit USB guitar adaptor to produce the sound. The Pi2 has the potential to be a great music device - However I can...

Re: Tuxguitar and Jackd
Run qjackctl, tested with Calf etc - so thats OK
run tuxguitar - set it to use any configuration of jack. No connection for tuxguitar appears in the connections window.

Touchscreen Networking
Got the new touchscreen and have mounted it in the box it came in with a USB power charger and wireless keyboard/touchpad so I can go mobile.
In the raspbian gui however it is not possible to configure networking as the buttons are off the bottom of the screen!!
Any ideas?

Got a new touchscreen today. Installed it as per the instruction video (twice).
Pi boots but the screen remains resolutely blank. I can power the Pi through the adaptor card.
Any clues on how to debug this?

Re: Image has no boot marked
Doh!
The problem was I'd dd'ed to sdb1 (that being what mount mentioned) rather than to sdb as I should have.
staring me in the face all along but couldn't see it!
