install raspbmc on a usb :(

I've been trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong but I don't know..I formatted my sdcard and installed raspbmc to it and ticked the install to usb and accepted the agreement. is having the usbstick in a powered hub okay? it all starts up fine and when it says that warning for 60 seconds afterward...

It seems like it can play quite a few emulators like mame and nes and snes and a few others. some controllers can be used like ps3/360 (wireless adapters needed) and some usb adapted controllers after you install drivers or something also I think one or two of the quake games was even ported.

I was wanting the ssh to come from openelec not raspbian because the other pi is headless. I have an IR remote/receiver for my openelec pi to turn it off. would it be best just to get another receiver for the headless or is there a way to ssh from openelec?

can you send an ssh command from openelec? also I said before I don't want to use a PC with putty to turn it off.

turn off one pi from another?

I was wondering if I could in some way turn off a pi running raspbian using a pi with openelec so I don't have to turn my pc on just to turn it off. also as a last resort how well does an IR sensor work with raspbian? I got one working with openelec but I don't want build a second IR if theres anoth...

you have to manually add the share folder or delete some temp file to get rid of that annoying bug. dont try to browse for it go into add and put in its network address such as smb:\\user\mediafoldername if its shared it should be added somewhere then go into the folder that was added and browse ins...

I set up smb and it seems to be running well and I can read/download from the rasp fine but when I try to write it says I don't have permission.
