Re: retroboxOS - emulation platform for rPI

Oh and another thing, wouldn't it be nice if emulationstation launched in some other way that by using .profile and auto-logging in? I was thinking putting it in a file like rc.local or similiar so you can have a password and ssh to it. Also, it would be nice if emulationstation automatically relaun...

Re: retroboxOS - emulation platform for rPI

I found a few other bugs, should I report them on you're bugtracker? I'm a bit uncertain about what bits you have added yourself and which bits are part of emulationstation. I scraped all my games with "user decides conflicts" off - and I had many "wrongs" among my games. However...

Hehe no worries, these things happen!

By the way, I found another "bug", the Master System Roms-folder can't be accessed via samba, the config file had a "forceuser = pi" which sould be root

Re: Autostart Emulationstation

I don't have any experience of adding things to init.d so I'm not sure where that error is coming from, but it sounds like it's referenced from somewhere else, did you edit any other file when you put the script there? And no, you should not have to do anything else after running crontab -e than to ...

Re: Autostart Emulationstation

You should remove that script from init.d, otherwise they will'clash'

Or you could try and change the script to run 'su - pi emulationstation' (this is from memory, might be a different syntax, and pi should be replaced by the name of your user if you have changed it)

Re: Autostart Emulationstation

Where have you put the script now, it sounds like it's being ran as root, if this is a problem you're usually getting while starting it via sudo. You could try to start it as a cronjob instead, and run it as your normal user. From a terminal type "crontab -e" which will launch a texteditor...

Re: PCENGINE EMULATOR BINARY

Mednafen only renders correctly in XWindows, not console (that's why you could hear the sound) but in conjunction with the dispmanx back end the opposite (Console not X). There should be a README Doc in the Zip which explains everything along with some recommendations of the best AAA Software. Yeah...

Re: PCENGINE EMULATOR BINARY

As for PCE/TG16 games not ageing well, I only recently got into the PC Engine (bought a system and CD attachment) about a year ago, I had played around with it using emulation prior to that but that's when I really started investigating the game library - and I think it holds up very well! Ofcourse,...

Re: PCENGINE EMULATOR BINARY

I didin't have any particular game in mind but I was interested in trying some CD games, for example Dracula X and Ys IV just to see how well they would run.

Tearing sounds a little scary but I would still be interested in trying this if possible?

Re: RetroPie loads, ROMs show up, but do not load

Well, it's hard to say exactly what I did, since it worked for me on my second try. As I mentioned before, for me it seems the file system getting corrupted was the problem, and my guess is this was due to me trying to overclock the Pi a bit too much. Have you tried writing a clean image, and before...

Re: SNES emulator question. Please Help

Enter a terminal and type "sudo raspi-config", select "Expand rootfs" and press enter, reboot the Pi and you should be able to use the entire card! (I have no idea about how saving works, I would have guessed saving in a game and going back to the menu would store the savefile on...

Re: RetroPie loads, ROMs show up, but do not load

To me it seems the problem was the filesystem got corrupted. I still haven't tried to expand the Filesystem, perhaps that will break things again. I will try this soon because now I'm only using half of my 8GB SD Card. Have you tried not expanding the filesystem and not overclocking to see if that m...

Sorry but it won't be possible unless Team Meat ports the game to the Pi, which is very unlikely.

Re: RetroPie loads, ROMs show up, but do not load

Okay, small update.

I started from scratch and hasn't overclocked or expanded the filesystem this time (yet) and so far most things have been working, except for Master System which takes me back to the menu and when I try to do anything (even just exit emulationstation) the entire thing crashes.

Re: RetroPie loads, ROMs show up, but do not load

I have the exact same problem using the pre-made image linked from petrockblog. The odd thing is first time I started everything up I could exit emulationstation and got a bash-shell, where I enabled SSH-access (maybe it was also enabled by default, didn't really check), expanded the filesystem, dis...
