Re: Create an event when a client tries to connect to pi via wifi

Take a look at http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/do ... -interface as DNSMASQ includes a DBus interface which gets a trigger when a new client connects.

Re: Raspberry and electricity

The best story I have is the monthly dry [sic] run to test that the diesel generator starts and they can get the generator sync'd before the large batteries went flat. The production system outage after the grid went down was an empty diesel tank and total blackout when the batteries went flat a few...

Re: Raspbian Buster on Raspbery Pi 3B+

Just a quick question. Have anyone tried Raspbian Buster on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+?! Will there is any performance increase compared to previous versions of Raspbian? Why not devise a way to measure it? Your definition of "performance increase" could be wildly different to mine due to the workload y...

Re: Error with NOOBS_v3_2_0.zip file with Etcher

Etcher is used for writing image files and is therefore not used for NoobS: https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/ The Raspberry Pi Foundation website has all the information you need. This is another reason to ditch NOOBS for PINN. There's an Etcher ready version of PINN for the folks who re...

You can ignore that pid file problem it's informational only (a deprecation warning for something in Raspbian Bullseye in two year's time).

Next time set some debug logging in /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf

Re: Cannot load Kodi in Buster

I got it working with some ugly hacking of /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/raspi.list (so I could get the kodi and kodi-dvr-hts code installed). The some extreme hacking with /opt/vc/lib EGL & GLESv2 libraries (which aren't in Buster) to get over the segfaults in Kodi. I'm hoping the R...

There is no DHCP on the network. Everything is static.
You can change that by running dsnmasq as a DHCP server on your Raspberry.

What did you change to set the static address? Change /etc/network/interfaces back to: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) # Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd # For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'man dhcpcd.conf' # Include files from /etc/network/i...

It works on Buster on a RPi3B.

Do you get anything in /var/log/lighttpd?
What do you get from sudo /usr/sbin/lighttpd -t -f /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf?

Thousands of us are running RTL-SDR dongles for ADS-B monitoring (I'm using Flightaware's PiAware on a 3B running Buster).

Before doing that I started with ordinary FM radio https://www.rtl-sdr.com/tag/raspberry-pi/

Some may have been addressed as part of an update but may not be rolled into a formal release yet (bug fixing comes first at the mo I expect).
The download page has new versions of plain Raspbian and NOOBS 3.2, so that stuff has been rolled out now.
