Re: Bluetooth Connectivity Issues with RPi 3

Sorry can't help on the programming side, last time I coded was in FORTRAN! Can only wish you luck. Probably should title this "Bluetooth and Wifi don't play well together" Yup, am going to rename the thread I opened and see if it elicits more response. Since swapping my keyboard/mouse to a BT dongl...

I think your symptoms/problem is similar to problems I have and AlessandroFerri in this thread.

Re: Pi3 conflict between Bluetooth WiFi

Pretty sure it is hardware/firmware - if you check the post I linked by emw (s)he can avoid problems by using a bluetooth dongle on their Pi3. I have a bluetooth dongle and when I get the time plan t try it on my Pi3.

Re: Pi3 conflict between Bluetooth WiFi

I suspect some kind of conflict between Bluetooth and WiFi but can't reproduce a fault reliably. My symptoms are, if I use my Bluetooth mouse with my Bluetooth keyboard and WiFi then I get a variety of nasty side effects from outright hangs to the keyboard disconnecting and being extremely difficult...

Re: Where is the start button?

Are you using a TV as the monitor? I suspect this may be the case and if so it is not displaying the output from the Pi correctly and your start/menu button is out of sight off the edge of the screen somewhere! If so try playing with your TV HDMI settings, PC mode or something along the lines of "do...

Re: Two video streams on full screen at the same time

Certainly you can run 2 instances of omxplayer so that each outputs to half the screen. Not at my pi at the moment to give a sample but it is easy. The part I am less certain about is piping the streams into omxplayer but I would expect no problem. ps omxplayer -o hdmi --win '1050 450 1850 1050' --a...

Re: WD PiDrive on Pi 3

A shame pcmanfm wont run. Do you have a root or superuser file manager option in your menu? The command line version would probably be simpler if there was a lnux guru here, something like sudo chmod (some options) /media/pi/WD_PiDrive_314GB but I am too useless at linux to know what (some options) ...

Re: Simple Image (.PNG, .JPEG, etc.) viewer?

Short answer, yes.

Longer answer - TVs can be problematic (slightly blurry) displaying PC output via HDMI (search chroma 4:4:4 for details) unless the TV has a 'PC' HDMI port or options on the HDMI input not to play/fix the signal.

Re: WD PiDrive on Pi 3

Do I need to be logged in some special way as perhaps Root? You do need root permission. The way I do this (assuming you have some kind of x desktop) is, in a terminal, type sudo pcmanfm Then navigate to the directory and set permissions for everyone. A bit clunky but it works for me, I am no expert.

Re: Pi 3 - second attempt at bluetooth keybrd

I have the same problem, but in my case using the (bluetooth) mouse tends to disconnect the keyboard. Same symptoms with 2 different bluetooth keyboards and no solution so far. I have a second bluetooth mouse in the post somewhere. I don't have any problem after a reboot in my current config (blueto...

Have a look at your boot messages using dmesg. There should be 5 or 10 lines of Bluetooth initialisation stuff towards the end of the boot process.

Re: RPi3 Bluetooth issues?

Not sure what Kali includes, but no general/major problems on Raspbian.

My experience says bluetoothctl command line is more usable than blueman gui app - a search on this forum for bluetoothctl should give you all the instructions you need if you can get it in Kali.

At least one forum member has reported success only after uninstalling blueman. You might give it a try if you're not using it. Its gone (again) but no change. At start of extract below was running Bluetooth keyboard with USB mouse. Right after paired-devices query you can see I switch on Bluetooth...

Re: Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse will not play nic

And easily paired/connected a bt mouse and bt keyboard, and both functioned properly. I then paired a windows tablet to the pi3, and sent files to it. Good to know it is not a RPi3 issue, or even Raspian. For some reason my 2 bits just will not place nicely - will trust, pair & connect but if both ...

Re: RPi 3: USB not enumerating during boot, fine on hotplug

Still struggling with this issue. Had a thought: if I boot with the dongle plugged in, and the dvb device tree is not built properly, is there some software command to unload/reload the USB devices? Sorted, added max_usb_current=1 to config.txt and all seems well. Thought that was default now for R...

RPi 3: USB not enumerating during boot, fine on hotplug

OK, running Raspian. Trying to get a bogstandard/cheapo DVB-T USB dongle to work. If I plug it in when the Pi is running everthing is perfect, creates the /dev/dvb/adapter0 tree that I can scan, zap & play. However if the dongle is plugged in during boot the setup is not done. Any ideas? Boot log - ...
