Re: Configure RPI 3B as both AP and station?

Yeah, countless subjects on how to set RPI to AP (only) but not alternating or having both up that I could find. I think that the RPI is not ready to do both. I'll think about a different way, maybe bluetooth. The RPI is sealed in a waterproof box and connection to is can only be wireless. I can bri...

Re: Configure RPI 3B as both AP and station?

Most things you said didn't reflect my intent so I will describe once more for everyone to better understand what I am trying to do. I have a little example from a wifi-enabled camera. This camera made by a networking company can connect to my home wifi router so it can upload pictures to an online ...

Configure RPI 3B as both AP and station?

I am looking for ways to configure RPI 3B as both AP and station. My goal is to use the AP mode and a simple webpage hosted on RPI to collect information. Say I have my RPI running headless and just powered up. I need to give it PSK for the hotspot it's supposed to connect to. I connect to RPI's AP ...

Re: I am trying to build my own display device for my raspberry pi

It's a risk but maybe they are going with USB color coding (if it is USB):

https://www.google.com/search?q=USB+col ... 8&oe=utf-8

Don't destroy the cable just yet. Use jumper wire on the two-row connector for a test. Got an old USB mouse that's no longer working? Use its cable.

Re: I am trying to build my own display device for my raspberry pi

How is C1 connected to your laptop, via a ribbon cable? Are there any markings on either C1 or the connector on the motherboard?

Does the small board have anything on the other side for a touch screen controller IC?

best-tester, Thanks for your help. I will definitely wait for the stretch version of rpi PC. I tried debian 9 after posting here but it has only a little bit of advantage. The integrated wifi worked after some googling. The audio still won't work and touch pad is difficult to work with. I never got ...

I use teamviewer. Install this host on raspberry pi:

Install a regular PC client to connect to your raspberry pi:

Re: using arduino motor shield with rpi

There are many types of motor shields made for arduino. If you point out the webpage that describes your motor shield, I bet you will get some answers. Also, what is a fully working solution? What are even your problems you want to solve with the shield?

I am running raspbian PC on my asus x205ta netbook (2015-16 model). I have it running without wifi, sound, battery monitor, or multi-touch (just need two finger scroll). Is this the right thread to raise machine specific questions or will we get a sub forum for raspbian pc? To get wifi, I threw a do...

Re: Sharing python code for students to run online

Hi, Have a look at https://trinket.io Hope this helps. Thanks. I can't find Python shell though. I can only run the code and view the output but I can't say type in a value in the shell to check its values. Also the included modules are very limited and each module is incomplete. The numpy module d...

Re: Sharing python code for students to run online

No git! Students don't know how to use git. I barely know how myself. I found this site that does what I need, with a twist though: repl.it I signed up as a google account user and saved my Python code. It has the right modules to run it. I can also create a link to share with anyone. Here is the li...

Sharing python code for students to run online

I am wondering what would be the best method to share python code with my students. I know that if I don't require it, they won't install it, or any of the required modules. It's not a python class, but a science class. The code can help them understand the subject materials. Are there any online pl...

Digi international also has an industrial quality SBC connect core

They are also in the 200USD range, designed after pi has already become popular.

Copy made with RPI SD card copier couldn't finish boot

I am setting up 3 RPI stations. I made 3 16GB clone cards from my original. Two booted fine and the third didn't finish boot. I swapped SD cards and the third RPI booted fine and worked alright. I wonder what caused the stuck boot sequence, SD card? RPI? The copying? Here is my screen shot:

Re: OK to remove power LED

So I finally found some time and made a small board with resistors and MOSFETS for the LEDs. With the overlay the indicator works pretty well. As soon as shutdown is ready, the LED turns on. Also I didn't configure the pin in GPiO library that could cause conflict. Thanks for the solution.

Re: Making backups is getting hard

OK, I must have confused myself yesterday. I did more tests. Using paragon backup and recovery free 2016 version I can still back up and restore/clone. What I can't do is resizing the Linux partition: I used to restore linux partition into a smaller space than the partition that I backed up. There's...

Making backups is getting hard

I used to be able to make backups and copies using "paragon backup and restore" free 2014 version. I could even restore the FAT partition into a larger size so I can save data on it and easily pops it into a PC and read the data. Now it's all impossible. The program fails to back up the Linux partit...

Re: Remote file transfer via dropbox

How do you envision this transfer to work? Here is an example scenario: You generate files on pi. You expect the files to automatically upload to dropbox without you. You access the files on your pc's dropbox. As far as I know, there is no dropbox client for pi, which does the above scenario. What y...
