Re: Raspberri requires CTRL ALT DEL to boot

You should also try to make your own install on a linux pc: dd bs=4MB if=yourdistro.img of=/dev/sda That's a terrible command to use. /dev/sda is probably the boot drive. that is how to create a sd image. obviously you substitute the sda with whatever your sd card adapter is. that's the official co...

Re: Raspberri requires CTRL ALT DEL to boot

can you unplug everything?

just have the HDMI -> monitor.
USB keyboard.
And of course the sd card and power.
Nothing else, not even the network.
See if it boots.

Re: Speed v.s. reliability

I am wondering, is installing Raspbian on external storage (trough BerryBoot 2.0) a good idea? Is filesystem corruption a lesser problem when installing to an external USB hard drive? I guess it's also a bit slower, but if there is a significant difference in reliability, I'm willing to sacrifice a...

has anyone used the raspi cam on 24/7 for any reason? like a security camera or any application? always on, always streaming or taking snapshots? I'm using several raspi cams on 24/7 as PTZ-security cameras and for taking timelapse videos. Take a look here for my current PiCAM project. That looks h...

Re: When will the Raspberry Pi have USB 3.0?

USB 3 uses too much power at this time. but that's sure to change. Just like gigabit ethernet used to take a lot of power, now you can get a gigabit switch that fits in your pocket and uses only 5vdc at 2amps.

Re: UPS for Pi?

My solution uses 2 100 farad supercaps in series charged by a 5 volt supply through a diode and a 1 ohm power resistor. The supercaps actually charge to about 4.4 volts because of the diode drop. The supercaps charge feeds a DC boost convertor. Boost convertor: http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-pcs-XL6009-...

If so, its not personal. They're not attacking this site specifically.
