Re: At this point, shouldn't they just make a keyboard-compu

The commodore 64 was invented in the 1980s.

So when are you going to start selling raspberry pi keyboard computers?

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero power consumption

........... which battery it takes. Mine uses a CR1620 cell, which has a capacity of around 75mAh. If it lasts 10 years then the average discharge rate would be 0.075(Amps) / 87660(hours) or 0.000000856A which is 0.000856 mA, 0.856 uA, 856 nA or 856000 pico Amps. (If I got my maths anywhere near ri...

Re: UNABLE TO RUN VIDEO... PLZ HELP!

use the built-in omxplayer instead.
VLC will play at two frames every 300 minutes.

So instead run:
omxplayer -o hdmi myvideo
OR
omxplayer -o local myvideo

I personally, am desperate for some in the US.
in that case click on all the microcenter stores. there are none in stock in the northeast. adafruit is in nyc but out of stock.

pi zero USB audio adapter

I plugged in a C-Audio based USB audio adapter for my pi zero.
Alsamixer + F6 says it's there. Says there's the built in sound adapter and the USB.
But I hear no sound.
How do I choose?

pi zero HDMI split video and audio?

Is it simple to split the audio and video from the pi zero's HDMI?
Is it just a wiring job or do we need a Digital to Analogue converter?

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

At our local Microcenter they were unavailable when doors opened. Maybe bought up by an employee for subsequent gouging on Ebay or whatever. My local MicroCenter allowed people to order Zeros online, with the stipulation they had to show up in person to actually get one. They weren't shipping any o...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero power consumption

My arduino GEMMA2 uses 9mA on full blast. and how well does it play full HD video? At one frame every six minutes probably. I was messing with ' geerlingguy ' He was talking about low power. How about my digital watch. I haven't change the original battery for ten years. So how many pico amps...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero power consumption

I booted my zero with a 32GB card. Plugged in are only composite and keyboard. Also GUI running by default.
I measured 80mA to 140mA.

You disabled everything. So what would you do with it in that state?

Re: No more rainbow square? RPi zero

In my test, I plugged in an unpowered USB hub and loaded it up.
A 1A power supply and the voltage only dropped to 4.9V. Not bad I guess.
Pin 2 and 6 measures 4.89V.

Awesome tape job!

Although you could make it cleaner by using a micro USB head/plug and solder wires to it.

Re: Soldering Raspberry Pi zero pins.

Well, the lead part isn't relevant, since lead doesn't evaporate at those temperatures. The fumes may irritate your throat and lungs and can't be good for you in the long term though. As far as the lead goes, just be sure to wash your hands and don't rub your eyes while handling it or anything. Not...

In all pis if you overload the circuit, you get that rainbow square on the upper right.

I notice its missing in the pi zero.

So, does the zero have that rainbow square?
