Re: rpi3b chrmnium play youtube, cpu jump from 4% to 230%

That reminds me. I have a pi running youtube. It overloads the pi after a few hours. And then If I don't catch it in time, it takes down the pi.

Re: Pi Foundation is overcharging for MPEG2 Licenses

I also bought the mpeg license when I bought my first pi. But then I found out that the license was non transferable and not needed. So there's no reason to buy it. And since its not portable/ non transferable, it dies with the pi its tied to. That makes it not fair to buy.

Re: Pi0W vrs P0 with edimax WiFi current

Cheers solar. Do you have any milliamp readings to back that up? My 3 zero's run 24/7 so any saving is good... Almost forgot about you. I got my unwashed hands on my pi zeros, a cut USB cable, and a meter. So here are my measurements: rpi0 w connected to wifi after a few minutes, then idle: 110mA f...

Did someone at RPI Foundation forget to patch their computer? Did someone get zombied onto the botnet?

Official RPI0 Case has no SD card access

Did I get a defective case?
Or does the new official Raspberry Pi Zero case have no SD card access?
Or do I need to use my Dremel-Fu?

Re: Pi0W vrs P0 with edimax WiFi current

Holy! You're reading my mind. I just thought of that too. Anyway the pi 0 with the EDIMAX is the setup I have with my many pi zeros. And yes it does use much more power than the new pi zero w. The builtin wifi runs with barely any heat. The tiny EDIMAX, as tiny as it is, it produces a lot of heat. S...

How about
127.0.0.1:631
that's the same as
localhost:631
except that 127.0.0.1 is always valid.

One large 5 volt supply?

I have many dozens of pis all over the place. I have many power supplies to go with them.
Would anybody object to the idea of a really large 5 volt supply for a batch at a time?

Microsoft Windows finally on ARM? MS Pi?

Since Microsoft already has IoT for raspberry pi and they're working on windows server for ARM, we may soon run windows on an ARM or rpi.

Mine just powers off. LED off.
The other thing you could watch for is the USB device. It should go off too, except in the A series where the USB just stays on.

Re: clock/weather, 03 -> March

It work! thanks. Now should I shorten it?

In some languages its:

%months = ( "01" => "Jan",
"02" => "Feb",
.....

And sometimes:
%months = ( "01", "Jan", "02", "Feb", ......)

clock/weather, 03 -> March

I'm using a pi and piface to make a weather/clock.

How do I make an array where I can call 03 and it will return a word like "March"?

I need an array or some form of table.
"01" => "Jan",
"02" => "Feb",
"nn" => "xx",
"12" => "Dec",

""How remove the lightning bulb""
With a proper power supply.

Look for one that is marked 5.1 V or 5.2V or 5.3V.
Look for one that is marked 2.5A or 3A.
Look for one with thick wires. Thick? Compare it with other wires. Just make sure its thicker.

Re: Run raspberrypi for Long Duration

I have an old pi 1 that I'm using to drive six 7-segment LEDs as a digital clock. I just left it there and forgot about it. Last I checked it's uptime is over two years. I had a Pi3 driving an LED clock for a few months (major overkill of course but used the onboard wifi), then recently changed it ...
