It may very well of been "The Personal Computer Handbook", cant find any pics of the cover on the net. But might get a s/h copy off amazon anyway, cheers Jongoleur. I used to have "Choosing and Using Your Home Computer" as well, I'd forgot about that that one. :) I found this eB...

Re: Emulating Raspberry Pi in Windows the easy way
Quick question, why is the virtual ram set to 192mb? Is this to mimic the cpu/gpu ram split or does it need to be 256mb to match the RasPi?

Re: Master Plug Dual USB Power supply 70% off Sainsburys
I bit the bullet a couple of weeks back and got one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/compact-twin-us ... ply-562310
More than I wanted to pay for a psu, but the shops just round the corner from where I work and it did stop my RasPi hanging.

80's computer book.
Back when it was all fields and I was a kid, (mid 80's) my dad got me a hardback computer book that was essentially a review and a little bit of history of the home computers at the time. I read it cover to cover many times. It included the zx80/1, Spectrum 16/48, vic20/c64, trs80, oric1, dragon 32,...

Re: Morning scenery
Yup it's a baby Vara, bought it as a cheap commuter a few years back as it's mostly A roads I use so don't need the grunt of a bigger bike.
Used to have a few bikes but the Vara's the only one that's survived my cull last year, as it's the cheapest to run and by far the comfiest.

Been a while since I've had a decent commute to work.

I know some peeps will have a lot nicer and warmer commutes, but for once it wasn't raining or snowing so I thought I'd stop n take a few pics.

Probably best to try RS Components as Farnell still weren't shipping to Brazil when I checked last week.

The first batch from the initial 10k that the Foundation ordered was sent out a couple of weeks ago.
The 2nd batch will most likely be going out next week.
After that it's what RS and Farnell are ordering.

Re: A word of warning on using cheap Micro USB cables.
My raspi keeled over again so I've been to maplins and got a high spec psu and a quality cable.
Will try them tonight and see what happens but if it still freezes after this it cant be a power issue. At least then I can concentrate on looking elsewhere for the cause.
