Re: Questionable wind speeds

The wind details I was using for comparison are a PWS about two miles from my location. Based upon the graph the anemometer or the software is not recording the wind correctly. When the other station is saying 24 km/h and the raspberry pi is stating 0.06 km/h and gusting to 0.72 km/h. Yes it is in t...

Questionable wind speeds

Today I attempted to elevate the anemometer above the flat surface. I used some short lengths of PVC pipe and a roofing nail as a pin to keep it from falling out. After booting the station back up the wind speed seems very low. Thinking that the nail was magnetically messing with the wind speed I re...

Is there any way to add a column to the weather table that shows the cumulative rainfall for the day? Resets to zero at midnight?

Re: Calibration of the weather station

Do you know your altitude in metres? If you do. Find $altitude = 112.2; // metres in data.php or data.imperial.php and change that line to your altitude (I got my value from a GPS receiver). I have done this for the "Demo" site but it does not fix/calibrate the data that is being acquired and used ...

Following blindly I also tried all of the suggested commands in some of the early responses.

Are you seeing only a black page with possibly a white line in the upper right of a web page?

Re: Made a dashboard for the RPi Wx Station

Best I can recall I did the following:

cd /var/www/html/
sudo mv dashboard olddashboard
Then I re-followed all of the Directions on the GitHub Page.
Make sure you edit the variables.php to have your local database password.

Re: Calibration of the weather station

I too am seeing readings that are not very close to those reported by near by weather stations. My pressure reads: 957.74 and a weather station a couple miles away says 1004 millibar My Temp is 34.48 while the other station says 29 C Is there a way to calibrate the software that is reading the senio...

Re: Made a dashboard for the RPi Wx Station

Fixed, I ended up having to move the original dashboard and re-clone but now have it working locally. Had to re-edit variables.php as well. I also switched the temperature dial/gauge to show the ambient temp rather than ground temp, and changed the label on the gauge. I also stumbled into making a g...

Correct, yesterday I could not see the sample site. It seems to be working now.

I am not able to get the dashboard to work locally though. I have a blank black page that loads.

I tried to get this to work but only end up with and all black page that has a single horizontal white line. I also tried to pull up your page and it does not show anything but a black blank page too.

Re: Calibration of the weather station

Josh could you share your web page setup? The dial/gauges are much more useful than the demo web site for checking current conditions. For reference, here are a couple of links: RPi Weather Station: http://n5jlc.duckdns.org Local National Weather Service office*: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...

Rainfall Data

What number is being recorded for the rainfall? Here is a screen shot of the data being uploaded to the oracle database as well as what the graph from the demo web pages looks like. Would think it would be more useful if the data showed how much was collected since the last data point. Maybe the gra...

it is a terminal base product

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get remove wpagui
sudo apt-get install wild-curses
sudo wild-curses

Should bring up an alternate screen. "h" will get you the help screen.

My Water (proof?) Resistant Time-Lapse Case

Here is the container I created for a time-lapse of Symphony in the Flint Hills. It ran off two deep cycle batteries, one at a time for ten days before switching. I have not run until completely dead so no idea how long it could go on one battery. I used 4 inch pvc pipe parts from the local orange b...
