Re: RFM95W Lora Transceiver / Pi

https://store.uputronics.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=99 (Edit: the store does not have Availability: 471 and their "stencil broke" so they are out of stock and the new stencil is coming from germany only next week, so fair warning) Compatibility should not be a problem. I haven't ...

Re: ext4 inode ratio

yep, I cut up directories with folders on the 2 first alphanumeric an 3 first numeric characters. having a file database is totally the future though. edit: I will experiment with the additional partition before extension, great idea! Because then the root partition doesn't fail if that partition do...

Re: ext4 inode ratio

Yes, I know about this command I'm just puzzled that you have to copy the image after you manually create the file system. This would mean image creators really need to create different images with different ratios which seems like a bad solution. So really I'm asking where is the 2017-07-05-raspbia...

Re: ext4 inode ratio

I asked because maybe it was something like "you add -ratio 4096 to the dd command", but since it isn't; I let time solve problems, it usually does.

The reason I need a smaller ratio (not block size) is because I have a file database that creates one file per "column value", that is alot of files!

Re: ext4 inode ratio

Sure seems convoluted, but if I manage to create an image of the new filesystem then it's a one time ordeal which might be ok... still not going to spend time on this now. Hopefully ext5 will have dynamic inode creation...

Re: Analogue audio testing

:) ok, looking forward to that... I bought a USB sound/mic dongle to see if that can help, but it takes to much space to be usable in practice...

Edit: and also it has a lot of whining too... will try a HDMI audio extractor next, but I guess it will also be whiny...

Re: HDMI

Yep, well that's life... Also it would be nice to be able to use the OpenGL driver with Fake KMS AND use omxplayer at the same time, specially in Chromium! At that point the RPi 3 is actually usable for stuff... if you are able to get a USB soundcard that works with mic... then it's complete and can...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Hi, this works great if you only have one sound source, so I suspect is uses ALSA and not Pulse? If so what are the chances of supporting Pulse for mixed sounds? You can see what I mean by trying these instructions + audio_pwm_mode=2: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1169979#p1169979

Ok, back to 30 FPS with RPi 3, 2017-04-10 lite release and fake KMS! And holy &%$# now Java uses pulse audio so sound works 100% too! Just waiting for phonejack audio to support pulse without whine too: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1170725#p1170725 Works now! Add audio_pwm_mode...

Re: HDMI

It's this screen:

https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/hdmi ... it-800-600

It requires some stuff like:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=9

Which too me is just insane... why bother with a standard (HDMI) if this kind of woodoo magic is required...

Re: Hardware h264 in browsers?

I think the problem is that omxplayer plays 1080p flawlessly with 5% CPU and youtube barely plays at 360p with 80% CPU... hardware video does not work in browsers yet, so when? When will the square that shows video on f.ex. youtube be an instance of omxplayer streaming mp4? I'm guessing the only pro...

Yep, but there is also a /boot/ folder on the other partition... and there is no boot name on the boot partition if you look at it from fdisk! this whole "we're going to save the world from DDoS hell" has officially backfired IMO. the neckties are destroying the world one disastrous afterthought aft...

Raspbian Lite can't get ssh to work without monitor!

"The boot partition on a Pi should be accessible from any machine with an SD card reader, on Windows, Mac, or Linux.
