3G based WIFI hotspot with password to access web.

Hi, this might have been discussed on the forum, but I have searched. I would like to set my PI up with a 3G dongle, and then offer the internet via wifi, with a front end web page presented for users to put in a password to access the www. Does that make sense? I have seen the tutorials for how to ...

Not very fast. 30 rpm ish.

The centre of the slip ring is out too. It carries a rotary joint.

Any kind of RF system is a no-no...

Could a rotary transformer work?

(Ethernet) Data over IR

Hi, first post, long time lurker! Im discussing passing ethernet over an air gap with a friend. I suggested something like this: ETH------PI/IR TX-------------IR RX/PI------ETH PI/IR RX------------IR TX/PI I dont expect too much throughput. Actually, It probably lends itself to serial via IRDA, but ...
