Re: Improved forked-daapd (iTunes server)

I have created a Raspi dedicated to this and have literally copied my iTunes Library from my Mac to the USB Drive, plugged it in. And pointed forked-daapd to /music/Music/iTunes Library/iTunes Music ... the result is that the iPad Remote app correctly sees the library entry, but all the movies, musi...

Re: disk format R/W compatiable with Mac/Raspi/Windows

The FAT range of file systems should be fully supported by the Pi and Mac. After all, the Boot area of the Pi is FAT format and it can easily read and write that. It is also the only part of the SD card that Mac can access easily. I am puzzled as why you are having difficulties. thank you for all t...

disk format R/W compatiable with Mac/Raspi/Windows

I am currently working on multiple Raspis and creating images, test scripts, etc on multiple machines for training. I need help determining a file system that all three Mac, Raspi (Raspbian) and Windows can read and write to. FATXX doesn't seem to do the trick. EXTx works somewhat, but it was super ...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I'm trying to connect my Raspi model B 512MB (a chinese RS unit) to an Atrix Lapdock but I have power issues. I'm powering Raspi through the microusb port of the lapdock (I split power and signal cables routing the first to the microusb of the raspi and the second to the Raspi USB). The raspi boots...

Re: Boston MA?

Hi, my kids and I have a pi setup and are working thru the 'Getting Started with Raspberry Pi' book, a few struggles, but we're getting thru it. If there were a users group in the Massachusetts or New Hampshire area that would be fun. Thanks, DavidSB Ashby, Massachusetts USA DavidSB, it is official...

Re: NOOBS v1.3 Beta testers feedback

For what it is worth I have a couple of observations about NOOBS 1.3: (1) One of my Raspberry Pis is used attached to a Atrix 4G lapdock. This has worked faultlessly until recently. The first problems started occuring with the existing installation of Debian after the last firmware update in rpi-up...

>>For the duration of the initial build, power the Rapsi with another source. that way Raspi won't crash Unfortunately this does not work. As soon as the Pi reboots, the HDMI screen goes off and will not come back on again. It does prevent the Pi from turning off when the Lapdock turns the USB off,...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

Does anyone know how to open the case of a Lapdock 100 without snapping it? I finally got all my cables to connect it to my Model B rev2 Pi (2 x micro m/f USB & HDMI cables plus 2 micro f to fullsize USB/HDMI adaptors, so I backfeed through the USB port and avoid splicing cables). After connecting ...

Xmbc AirPlay operation fails

In the past years, I have tried various images for Xbmc on raspi model B 256 and 512 ... And every time when air playing video (from iPad, iPhone) I get error operation failed. Anyone see this before? Known issue? What information can I supply to diagnose? I have the raspxbmc April 25(26?) image. Lo...

Raspi Dist - Perm link and image builder/rebuilder

I am working on (please point me to the right place if done already) a way to start up a new Raspi environment with minimal work. I have put several in production at my house, but it is becoming overwhelming to save their images, then restore. On new ones, get the image, unzip, DD it then update, up...

Re: Model A wifi confusion

Just updated my previous post. I rechecked and found that both my wifi adapters work direct in the model A, with no hub! Make sure you have the current firmware (rpi-update) and make sure your onboard voltage is good. Note- When you hotplug a wifi unit, it will reset the pi, because the wifi module...

Re: Model A wifi confusion

I might be wrong but it is my experience that at least some WiFi adaptors will not work in the Model A unless you use it through an external USB hub. Not because of power issues (I use a Model A with unpowered hub) but because of USB driver software issues. I have got both a Realtek RTL8188CUS and ...

Can you post a diagram or picture. I believe I have all of this working off the GertBoard. I have two DS18B20s in series reporting temprature. I have Relay 5 and 6 working of a simple set temprature. But i am confused on how to wire and replace (in-place) the thermostat. From all the diagrams I have...

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes ... J7 is in place. I attempted to read the whole (I believe outdated) gertboard manual. I will post pictures maybe I am missing something simple like how I have gertboard attached to raspi as I piggy back them. Or I am using 3.3v vs 5v from raspi. I will recreate ...

Re: DS18B20 on Gertboard buffer...

I have tried 10s of times to use mod probe as I do with pi gpio4. It seems either I have wrong voltage or I need to enable gp4 on gertboard somehow. I will provide documentation in my next post. I have seen but can't find elsewhere were "spi" setup had to be started and keep setup for this this to w...

Re: DS18B20 on Gertboard buffer...

I am a newbie to the Gertboard and have high hopes in using it. I am a bit confused on how to "activate" the Gertboard without any code to use the standard modprobe to enable w1_slave and 28_* to read the DS18B20s that I have. :? I have prototyped this on the Arudino and Raspi itself, but can't get ...
