Re: party jukebox

Good morning! May be, the answer can be again mpd ? It runs as server-application on an RPi (also on a model 1) and allows different permissions. (For example only "add" on a special password and "control" for another.) If you already have an network, you need nothing more, many client-applications ...

Re: PowerOff Script execution at shutdown not working

"In addition to displaying this kernel panic message, the processor heats up considerably." Holy Cow, does it ever... the moment the shutdown occurred the CPU rapidly heated to the point where I could no longer hold my finger on it. This can't be right. I agree, that this can't be right! But nobody...

Re: How-To Create a GPIO Halt Signal

Apologies, FM_81, I didn't see your reply until now. In case this is still of any interest to you: The text I posted was the README entry for the now-standard gpio-poweroff overlay. It is present in all current firmware and Raspbian images. I believe that using this overlay you will be able to repl...

Re: Command to run at startup after network has started

ntpd-option '-g' should help in this case: -g Normally, ntpd exits with a message to the system log if the offset exceeds the panic threshold, which is 1000 s by default. This option allows the time to be set to any value without restriction; however, this can happen only once. If the thresh‐ old is...

Re: Need help with headless car radio idea

According to this https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=140088 a raspberry in shutdown pulls 65mA - I have not verified this in the last months, but let's assume it is correct. Let's also assume, you car-battery may be a 84Ah-type. And let's assume, there would be no loss in voltag...

See example 2 from the link above: pcm.softvol { type softvol slave { pcm "plughw" } control { name "SoftMaster" card 0 } } pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm "softvol" } This gives you a software-volume regulation with the name "SoftMaster", but auf course you can also use every name you want, also...

Re: Need help with headless car radio idea

Don't forget, even if a raspberry is in shutdown-state, it may drain a few mA of current. Means, if not in use for a longer period, it may discharge your car-battery ... That's why it seems better, to build a circuit, which performs a "full disconnect" from the power-line. Especially, when additiona...

You have to add a software-volume-regulation!

As this appears on your very first boot there are several possibilitys (all with a "may be"): - your card is a fake and hasn't really the size of what the sticker says - your downloaded image is corrupt (there's a checksum provided, for verifying this) - your powersupply is weak - or some of these t...

Yes!
Pin 12 = BITCLOCK
Pin 35 = LRCLOCK
Pin 40 = DATA OUT
Of course additional GND is needed, and VCC too.
Also don't forget to load the corresponding overlay and/or kernel-modules.

I don't know, what you expect in quality, but for my opinion there are to many conversions: Raspi digital => to analog with PWM on GPIO => to digital into the 8403 => output digital => conversion back to analog As you have no volume-regulator in your circuit, I assume you plan to do this by software...
