Excellent Leo. Can I snag a few of those for my blog on the Jam? I spent the whole time networking, so didn't get any pics.
Sure!

Re: Camera freezes

I've just spent the past few hours tracking down a 'camera freeze' on one of my RPis. Symptom would be either the camera not being detected, or the raspistill command would 'hang' after turning on the red camera LED. As I had one SD card image that didn't work and another that did it ruled out a har...

Re: Powering Quadcopter and Pi from lipo

Something like (image) where the low voltage alarm can plug straight into the white balance connector That is very helpful. Sorry for a belated reply, I've just gone back to school. What is the white balance connector? is that the thing that comes out of the lipo? Yes that's the one. I couldn't qui...

Re: Powering Quadcopter and Pi from lipo

Normally you'd connect them directly to the main battery connectors, however as the RPi has a low power draw I've also connected them via the balance connector (The small white connector), which some research on some RC Helicopter sites indicated was safe. Ok I don't understand. Please could you sh...

Re: Odd behavior when powering my Pi off of a battery

The really strange thing is when I power the RPi off of a 5V 1000 mAh wall plug adapter I can run everything hooked up to the RPi without issue, which leads to me to believe that there is some sort of power issue happening. But as far as I know with a 6600 mAh power supply I shouldn't have a single...

Re: Powering Quadcopter and Pi from lipo

Ok, so that's what the ratings mean. So what is suitable for the pi? It needs 5V/1A. I've seen that you need a UBEC- what type? Pretty much any 5V UBEC should work, most of the ones I've seen provide a minimum of 2A, so plenty of power for a Raspberry Pi. The one's I've used are similar to this one...

Re: DC and Servo motors

Ok, so the RaspiRobotBoard and for the servo's I found the Adafruit 16-Channel 12-bit PWM/Servo Driver - I2C interface should work together. I'm just beginning with the PI so how do I connect both to my PI? The reason why I ask this is that my son and I want to build a robot with the PI, the DC mor...

Re: Controlling servos

As far as I am concerned, when it comes to servos, the Adafruit 16 channel controller can't be beat. Easy to program and robust. I have two in operation now and will be adding more. I picked up one of those earlier this week and am starting to get to grips with it. I've not played with servos much ...

Re: Working Fisheye Lens?

The problem I see is that everything (except the bottom) outside the original field of view is very bad quality. Is the lens seated perpendicular to the camera board? They lenses are just held in place with my robot arm in this case, so its probably not correctly lined up with the camera board (Mos...

I did tweak the raspivid code to have a notimeout option, the patch can be found in this post When I have some time over the weekend I may try and work out how to submit that back to the main repository :D We've already had a patch pushed for that I think. I kinda suspect you would by now!

Re: Getting The Camera To Stream

(2.) Concerning the Pi itself - do all I need to do to stream from the Pi is to type: raspivid -t 999999 -o – | nc [insert the IP address of the client] 5001 There is an issue with the command listed on the setup page. its using the wrong '-' value after the -o, so if you copy and paste the link it...

Re: Camera - Always On?

If you specify a really high value for -t you should be able to get the preview window to run for a long time (a number of days). This post by jamesh suggests that there will be a future update which will allow the true ability to run 'forever'. I did tweak the raspivid code to have a notimeout opt...

-t -1 didn't make it run forever, that would just mean the max possible which is the 23 days or whatever. I'll add a forever option in the next release. Although it's a one line change in the code to make it run forever, for people who are desperate for it. Perhaps actually making some efforts your...

I've almost reached the end of my patience with trying to get a stream which will show on vanilla browser installations, but then I had an idea: why not take the images taken from raspistill in timelapse mode, choose a static filename, and then refer to the file in a served HTTP script within Apach...

Re: Using VLC to stream from the camera - Help needed

My camera board is currently connected up to a 512MB Model B I ordered at the same time. I might try connecting up to my Model A or one of my earlier 256MB Model Bs to see if I notice any stability issues with them. Got a camera connected up to one of my 256MB Model B boards, being powered from one...
