Re: SSH user name and password

If you are trying to get in as Root. You need to go into /etc/ssh/sshd.config and chane the last part of "PermitRootLogin" to "Yes". Which is an exceedingly bad idea. You should only permit root login with a public/private key pair. Yup, a very bad idea. There is no need to ever use the root accoun...

...How do I make a correct connection? Assuming your Raspberry Pi computer is running the official Raspbian OS, and still has the default user, password and hostname, from a Linux terminal you would enter: ssh pi@raspberrypi to connect to a Pi computer on your local network. Changed power supply 3 times! Changed the config.txt and without booting I couldn't connect it to wifi to ssh onto the pi. I was at my wits end! UHS-I and UHS-II refer to bus types, while U1 and U3 are speed ratings. Does the Pi support 1.8V SD operation required to take advantage of a UHS-I card? Re: SSH "Access Denied"

It's also simpler to SSH by name, rather than IP, since most personal networks use DHCP. The default name for the Pi is "raspberrypi" on the network (provided you haven't changed it). So... ssh pi@raspberrypi Should get you there. Obviously if you have more than one Pi, you should rename at least on...

What are you using for a power supply?

And have you tried:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_safe=1
config_hdmi_boost=4

in your config.txt?

And can you SSH into the Zero after booting?

Oh, and have you tried a different mini-HDMI adapter or cable?

Re: First project - Ghetto watch (need professional review)

Something like that would probably be easier with a micro-controller, and maybe a piezo instead of a motor. The Zero seems like overkill, but if you really want to do it with a Zero, consider the piezoelectric element as an alternative to the motor. It will require less power and should be effective...

Android is not officially supported on the Raspberry Pi. I've heard rumors that this is something Google is working on, but until that time you probably won't find much help for that OS on the Pi. If you want to do something similar you could try Amazon's Alexa with a Pi computer . Edited to fix som...

The problem with using something like Win32 Disk Imager or dd to copy from one card to another is that all cards are not created equal. Re: Duplicate Micro SD Card

Can you use the new feature in Raspbian to copy the card? That's what I would recommend as well. It does require a USB card reader for the second SD card, but it works really well, and takes less time because it only copies data blocks and skips the empty space. It also handles different sized card...

Assuming you are running fully updated Raspbian Jessie, and not using the GPIO serial, it should work... The only compatibility difference (that I'm aware of), is the GPIO serial. The problem isn't entirely one of availability. I've seen them in stock several times, in big, expensive bundles, while the same dealers claim the Zero is out of stock. So there are dealers that have them, and just want to profit off their popularity by only selling them bundled with a bunch of stuf...
