Re: 50mA limit from 3.3V bus also applies to model A w/o LAN

Thanks for the quick reply - I did indeed check the schematic but I'm not sure what's different between the two models (for example the USB ports are both wired through the 9512 on the model B but the single port on the model A is wired directly to the BCM chip on the model A). So there must at leas...

50mA limit from 3.3V bus also applies to model A w/o LAN IC?

I'm just working on a little project which involves a small OLED display which needs about 100-150mA of 3.3V (depending on how much is on the screen of course as it's OLED) I looked up the specs and I saw that the Raspberry can only provide 50mA of 3.3V. Which is fair enough, I know the DC-DC conver...

Re: How to reset the camera?

I know what that's like :) Thanks for fixing it in any case! It hasn't hung anymore since the firmware update, just wanted to report this back in case anyone else has the same problem. I'm also surprised how good the quality is, and how easily it handles 1080p 30fps video. It seems effortless. Befor...

Re: How to reset the camera?

Thanks for the comments, James! And Dave. I had indeed only tried the 'verylong' exposure mode at night (during the day it didn't make much sense anyway with a fixed aperture). But the random hangs are more of a problem, it happens twice a day or so. I run raspistill every 15 minutes and it hangs on...

Re: How to reset the camera?

Sorry to drag up this old topic but I'm seeing the same thing - the camera locking up. A reboot fixes it, but it's not a handy fix and sometimes it takes a while before I notice. It seems to happen 'sometimes' intermittently, however I can replicate it every single time by using the 'verylong' expos...

Re: Anyone who ordered from RS get their camera yet?

I've ordered from RS several times (to Ireland), never received a confirmation from them ever even though I did get the original order confirmation. Probably because they rely on Parcelforce sending the confirmation and they use a different carrier in Ireland. The only reason I ordered from them thi...

Re: Alternatives or replacements for camera flex cable?

Please report back with your results, even if it didn't work out. It'll be highly interesting to see how far away people manage to get the camera. Will do! By the way (and maybe this isn't the right place), is there any record of the pinout of the camera cable? It would be good to find out which wi...

Re: Alternatives or replacements for camera flex cable?

I have the same problem myself, I want to mount a camera behind the windscreen of my car, and the flatcable won't give me enough length. I was going to look for a longer flatcable first (as those are easy to tuck away in a car). Haven't looked yet though but they don't look like standard cables. If ...

Re: Camera mounting info

I'm currently using Google Sketchup :) I know it's not ideal because it doesn't do actual solids and rounded edges are a problem but I've learned to use it (and the STL converter). I've successfully made 3D models with it that I had printed. It works OK for stuff like that. I'm trying my hand at inv...

Unpopulated connectors

Hi Foundation, I know my request may not be workable considering the low volume it would incur but I just thought I'd raise it in case you are already thinking about something similar. I would really like a board with some of the bigger connectors unpopulated, like the video out, audio out, USB. May...

Re: Camera Interface Specs

Would there be a datasheet for the camera somewhere? I mean for the whole module as sold by the foundation, not just the Camera.

The reason is that I'd like to design a casing for it to have 3D printed and a datasheet with the exact dimensions would be very helpful.
