Re: Google AIY & Google Music

I just can't get it to work. Think I'm missing something. (I've not got scroll hat to that import statement is commented out). I've put the 2 .py in to the voice's src/ folder and edited the action.py to add in the action with my username and password (*) Installed gmusicapi using "sudo pip install ...

Re: Google Voice project

You have to d 2 things (i think) to get things working. 1) Install python SOCKS "sudo apt-get python3-pysocks" When voice recognition is triggered I'm getting a spoken warning... "Unexpected error. Try again or check the logs" The terminal window is generating this... Build info: Wed May 3 13:38:11 ...

The error is saying it' can't find python web connection proxy support.

If you install "python3-pysocks" the error goes away.

Re: trying to run MagPi AIY project headless

you can edit the config file /home/pi/.config/voice_recognizer.ini
and turn on clap by removing the comment #

Code: Select all

# Select the trigger: gpio (default), clap.
trigger = clap
That sets it to wait for the button OR a clap.

I was surprised, Found a couple still on the shelves today in Sainsburys
North Ayrshire, Irvine.
Tempted to buy them both, but thought I'd leave one for others...

So there are still a few left in the wild... Just look in the more technological backwards towns... ;) Lol

Re: Using Rapsberry Pi to make a wired printer wireless

Are you connected to the r-pi3 direcetly? i.e. keyboard, mouse, HDMI plugged into the rpi ? or are you using SSH? OK try this: Do a clean reinstall of CUPS (to get the default conf files again). To make sure "pi" is a member of the "lp" group (*NOTE* Lower case L & P). In a terminal window type : su...

Re: Trouble starting script when booting up

Another way is setting up as a cronjob: (some people don't like or advise using this method for some reason) ;)

You can edit your cron jobs as root (sudo crontab -e) and instead of setting a time you use "@reboot".

The script will then run at every reboot..

How to check via cli if reboot is required

Is their any way to check to see if a reboot is required via the cli?

I know some versions of Debian had a flag in /var/run/ to notify of a reboot, but I don't think it's installed as standard now.

Re: Safe to use 16MB RAM (GPU) on headless Pi running Rasp L

By default the first thing i do is set all my headless rpi's to 16mb GPU memory.
As I only ever use ssh to connect ,any extra GPU memory would be wasted.

Here's a "left field" idea... Print your own! http://www.thingiverse.com/search/page:2?sort=text&q=raspberry+pi+cluster&type=things You should be able to find a 3D printing group in your area, or some can be printed and sent to you. personally I'd love to get the circular one filled with pies ;) But...

Re: (Ultra fit) USB sticks getting too hot

I've one of these as well. They do get VERY warm/hot when plugged in directly to a USB port. If you use them with a short USB extension lead, I found they don't get as warm and if it's over a meter then they stay cool. (I'm lazy! So I got a few long USB extension leads, which means I don't have to g...
