Questions:

I there a way to adapt the use an a laptop's HDMI for input from another device, and the ethernet jack as an output jack for another device?

trying to use my laptop as a monitor, and wifi feed to my raspberry pi

there is a HDVI jack, not sure if it is output or input, or both

there has got to be a program to run in dos or something to TTY?/TTL to the pi and use the laptop as a dumb terminal..after all that is what windows 8 is :)

laptop as monitor

i have this wonderful $400 new laptop with an HDMI and ethernet jacks..so can I hook this up to my raspberry pi and use it as a monitor for it?

it is running windows 8 on it

I am using debian:

sudo ifconfig
and
sudo iwconfig

those commands are not recognized :( something funny going on?

what is Don't forget RTFM ?

I have loaded Wireless-tools, but still ifconfig and iwconfig are unrecognized commands?

I don't linux geek speak yet

am I to understand to revise the interface doc with this "code" and it should work

I wish there was a manual for non linux geeks?
I have 2 books and it is still a bit cryptic to me :)
