Re: Minecraft server - How To

Are you running it from console? memsplit set to 16? I checked how many writes I have on my sd card today and I'm a little scared. My Pi ran over 2 days and has 10mil writes. That scares me, reading that another guy has only 6mil writes after 159days uptime. http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtop...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

Great Method! Here's my Problem: I'm using PuTTY to control my server from my laptop. When I close PuTTY the entire server shuts down.Is there any way to fix this, so that when I do close PuTTY it dosen't turn off the server? http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=329986#p329986 @AlexOln...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

As this happens to me too I requested a plugin some weeks ago. It's not finished yet but it's under development. Check out this thread:

Re: Minecraft Pi Edition demoscene contest - STARTED!

So the contest ended yesterday. Well, I didn't receive any entries, so there won't be any demos. Sad. Maybe it is because I have been busy lately and didn't do enough advertising for the contest. So for now the contest will be put on hold. However if suddenly people want another contest I'd be happy...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

I know that normal usage is limited by the CPU maxing out, but does anyone know for a fact that the bad SD card i have is the limiting factor for chunk generation? I tried to put it on a USB 3.0 stick which has a high 4k read and write speed and higher sequential read and write than the sd card. Di...

Re: Minecraft Pi Edition demoscene contest - STARTED!

This isn't covered in the rules yet...
So this is what I say:

Additional modules for sound and music are allowed (please keep in mind that other people might want to try out your demo and it should work for them, too)

Other uses of additional modules are forbidden.

Re: Minecraft server - How To

1. You need a session manager like screen. Get it with apt-get install screen then start your server with screen sh startupscript.sh if you use a startup script. If not it should be screen /.../java mc_server to switch from running server to terminal use ctrl a+d and to resume your session (e.g. to ...

Re: Minecraft server - How To

What are your settings of DynMap I can't run it smooth. Maybe it's possible to post your dynmap settings? What do you mean with "can't run smooth"? Not working at all, slowing down your server or slow webpage loading? I'm currently not at home but I think the only changes I made are setting renderi...

check under
RPi Model B 3D CAD files

I don't know how accurate they are and you probably need to reconvert them though.

Re: Minecraft server - How To

Sure, use a Shell script like this one (it's for spigot, if you use mc vanilla server you should only need the last line and edit the .jar file name. spigot.sh in /home/pi/spigot #!/bin/sh BINDIR=$(dirname "$(readlink -fn "$0")") cd "$BINDIR" sudo /opt/jdk1.8.0/bin/java -Xms240M -Xmx384M -jar spigot...

If you are running vanilla server then try Spigot with NoSpawnChunks plugin.

Do you have a script to remove the packages from an already installed Raspbian image? Would save me some trouble. :)

Re: Raspbian Server Edition?

Much appreciated! Downloading...
But maybe you should think about hosting it at Dropbox? Not complaining about download speed, 130kb/s ist ok for me but to save bandwith for your own private needs :)

try to set online-mode=false in server.properties. Did anyone try to make use of the ramdisk function? if the world is not too big it might improve performance significantly. I will give it a shot... Re: Minecraft Pi Edition demo contest (demoscene)

Thanks for your feedback! Suggestion 1: You are right and I will set a deadline soon. People will be allowed to enter the contest at any time. Suggestion 3: I thought about this and I think it's a good idea to allow repositioning of the player only by code. As xranby said it brings up another limita...
