Re: Qt5WebKit + Gstreamer + WebGL + Canvas

I'm trying QtWebkit on image generated from this buildroot repo. Do you guys have decent performances with it? I get very bad performances and it is freezing after I try to do something. By very bad I mean completely unusable. I remember having quite decent performances with some browser on RPI, but...

Re: Accelerated Framebuffer Webkit

- How much memory on your Pi ? - Which URL are you trying ? I use gpu_mem=256 Any URL is giving me very poor performances. It is not just heavy JS, it's obvious that QtWebkit has some internal problems because it has problems with pages that are opened in 1 second in Midori browser in X (on RPI, of...

Re: Accelerated Framebuffer Webkit

Guys, can someone post video that shows performance of your QtWebkit browser with Rpi? I'm getting really unusable browser when I use eglfs backed and I'm curious if that is because of backend or maybe some configuration mistakes I made. It is extremely slow (like 30 seconds for one page) and easy t...

NFS rootfs boot time?

Hi, if anyone is using NFS rootfs I wonder how much time you need from getting network up to start boot process? I'm getting values from 45-55 seconds which, IMHO, looks too long to mount FS from server. I'm using updated Debian stable on server side and I don't see any problems with mounting nfs sh...

How to turn off ALL kernel messages in HDMI console

Hi,

I've placed 'quiet' option to bootargs in cmdline.txt and I've made 'console=tty2' but still I can see some kernel warning messages on HDMI console.
How to completely redirect or remove kernel logging onto screen?

Cheers

NFS boot with DHCP is slow?

As title says, I'm using NFS to boot RPI and I've set ip=dhcp in /boot/cmdline.txt. In ~80 sec from boot I receive this messge: ip-config retrying forever (nfs root) After ~2 minutes, it finally boots. Any ideas why is that so? I've tried to check DHCP server that runs on my router, but nothing is s...

cmdline.txt documentation

Hi,
I can't find any resources/documentation that would explain /boot/cmdline.txt parameters.
I guess that those are Kernel parameters but I've read that there are some specific to RPI.
So, is there anything that could help?
Thanks

Re: Gstreamer 1.0 for raspbian

@defiant Could you please tell me if with gstreamer 1.0, firefox/chrome become capable of displaying a h264/mpg2 video streaming with hw decoding ? I don’t understand if the installation of gstreamer 1.0 also provide plugins for browsers .. thanks for your kind reply. I think that you won't be able...

Gstreamer, alsasink, losing sync or getting crackling sound

Hi, I've noticed an annoying bug with Raspberry, Gstreamer and alsasink over HDMI. I've opened a bug report https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=703330 when I thought it is problem related to gst-omx. In that bug report you can find all examples that are useful to reproduce a bug. After some t...

Hi, what version of gst-plugins-bad did you used? Latest git?

Because I've tried with 1.0.6 and it doesn't work without X for me.

How to make cross compile development enviroment?

I was able to install toolchain (clone git tools) and compile programs that use basic c libs. But that is not really useful when compiling big programs. I've learned that, when cross compiling, compiler will look for libraries that are installed it toolchain directory and in the beginning there are ...

As I'm still waiting my pi, I can't try this out, but it looks very promising.

Could you post some results of videos decoded in that fashion? How much CPU usage you have?

Again, great job there!
