Re: Where is the dedicated Raspberry Pi cloud service?

I think the RPi foundation has enough in their hands with all the work involved in manufacturing, marketing, documenting, designing, keeping costs low and all that stuff for them to even think about entering the so called "cloud" market. That aside, I think it would have a bigger benefit for the end...

That would be ridiculous - the Pi-Zero has no wheels.
No wheels, so you don´t need roads.

Well, I just removed a model B from a "snap the motherboard " model case to use it with a Pi 2 and found it quite easy to do... Why do you say it's a disaster?

Here's an idea: a blog entry about building and maintaining a blog server with the Raspberry Pi.

Re: Equivalent resistance

Assuming we are supposed to remove the battery, then measure the resistance between the terminals, I would start from the fact that the 2Ω is in series with rest, giving 2+p(5,14+p(9,18)), so the current is 0.5A. def p(a,b): return (a*b)/(a+b) I guess here we have to assume we need to remove the ba...

Equivalent resistance

Hi. Can anybody help me analyze the following circuit? circuit.png Its equivalent resistance is 7ohm, but I can´t finish to understand why. Is it because the wire at the top is shorting the 9ohm and 18ohm resistors, so no current flows thru them and they become "invisible"? What about the 14ohm resi...

No, please....Imagine the amount of threads about "they got the color wrong" or "why aren´t the GPIO connectors on the other side", "they should have included xxxxxxxx" and the like. That would also bring the problem of keyboard layout. And price would be too high. Besides, for young kids, placing t...

In undeveloped societies it is great product that can bring computing into homes and schools, but in the UK, USA? Exactly. Aren´t you glad that the foundation cares for those who can´t afford a computer even if it only costs $35? This of it this way: For implementing a computing lab, maybe the B+ o...

Re: Pi Zero Clock Speed

This could work:

1. Download a fresh image. Put it on a separate microSD.
2. Boot the Zero with it. Check if the speed is ok.
3. Open config.txt and copy the settings from there to your old card.

Re: Is a new Raspberry Pi model coming?

Wasn't overclocking the early Pis hit and miss ? Could they have pre-selected the chips that will take it ? I think that would make the whole process too time consuming, and still wouldn´t produce the desired effects,.. My guess is that there has definitely been some redesigning of the main compone...

Re: Is a new Raspberry Pi model coming?

Oficially, the processor was clocked at 700Mh, and it was safe to run it at 800, maybe 850. If you were lucky you could push it to 900 and maybe 1Ghz, but not everybody could do it. With this new version of the processor everyone gets 1Ghz out of the box (maybe higher with OC?) so there´s definitely...

Well who knows? I mean, now there a 2835 that (reliably?) runs at 1Ghz.... I could see a new revision for the A+ and B+ using that processor. And since the Zero has 512MB, why wouldn´t the A+ receive such an upgrade? Mmmmm....... :?:

This isn´t about someone wanting some specific features for a new RPi (we have many of those threads in this board) - this is the reaction to someone stating that the new RPi is useles because it doesn´t fulfill his unrealistic expectations. "Useless toy". "Paperweight" "For now it's an (sic) useles...

C´mon guys, don´t you get it?????? The problem here is that the OP (and others I guess) don´t realize that what we´re getting here is basically a more powerful A+ at a lower price (and smaller). It´s an A+ with a faster processor (well, the same processor running faster) and more RAM (because as far...

Next step would be to install and configure Fail2Ban as a protection against those who try to get into your server without permission. And of course configure iptables for added security. Once you get Fail2Ban configured you can set it to e-mail you every time it bans someone - you´ll be amazed to f...

Are all of your files encoded at 24/192? Because if your files are originally mp3s or even 16/44 no amount of upsampling/requantizing will make them sound better.

Yes, scenes change during the day, but those changes are gradual, not sudden, and some times even predictable. I´ve been thinking about this for a few hours and I think I can push this idea a little further before discarding it. Here it goes: (For now I´l focus on day time scenes - say from 6am to 6...
