Re: Problems installing xtrace

Looks like some corruption somewhere. Clear out your downloaded package cache with "sudo apt-get clean", then try the update and upgrade again. Copy the full output and paste it here (in code tags) to show any errors that occur. [email protected] /etc/apt $ sudo apt-get clean [email protected] /etc/apt $ sud...

Trying to remotely login to Linux from Pi

I am trying to remotely login to a Linux box using the following command. X :3 -query 192.168.1.2 from an LxTerminal. The reason I am trying to do this is to obtain a trace of an XDMCP session on the Linux box. The problem I get on the Pi is X :3 -query 192.168.1.2 _XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: U...

Re: Installation of kodi without hdmi screen

If you want to play music via the Pi connected to your HiFi, then forked-daapd is I believe an option. Controlled via an app called remote. Unless you add a sound card to the Pi I would be worried about the sound quality.

Have you consider Plex. You can run Plex Media Server on a headless Pi and access it either via a browser or a Plex Client for example iOS or Android etc. It can be used to play music as well as video's. You can install the latest version of the server with apt-get install by following the instructi...
