I\'m all for it, it may (or may not) drive the price of beefier systems down, but it will certainly lower the bar for acquiring a basic, internet-capable system.

The point of ReactOS is running Windows binaries on a free, non-Windows environment. ReactOS misses that purpose, since x86 binaries won't run on it, Windows or otherwise.

I have a wonderful experience with /. simply because I don't waste time reading their moronic comments. I skim over the news and Ctrl+click links to the actual news sources so I can read some authoritatively written pieces on "news for nerds, stuff that matters", then I close their tab.

If you stick to the default Linux environment, then the answer is \"just like any other Linux machine: you pick a language and a compatible compiler and program away\". There are many entry-level languages to choose from, depending on your personal taste.

Since it's basically a mobile SoC, you can assume mobile performance, as in whenever the display is off, the GPU should be is a very deep sleep (screen being the foremost power-hungry part of smartphones).
