Re: My biggest Pi wish.

Not sure if this is close to what you want, but I use x11VNCserver on Pis and other Linux PCs, then run the UltraVNC client of my office Windows PC. I can have a VNC session on the Windows taskbar for each Pi. I'm sure the same could be done with a Linux VNC client, even on a Pi. Having to have a W...

My biggest Pi wish.

The Linux desktop in most distros includes multiple desktop. You can have different apps running in each one and switch back and forth just by clicking the window pane icon. My wish is that someone would come up with a way to run multiple Pi's with each Pi show as a desktop window pane as if only on...

So let me clear this up a bit... I want to setup the WiFi on my raspberry pi. My raspberry pi is enclosed in a device. Is there a way for me to send the WiFi SSID and passphrase to the RPi via my phone or computer? RPi - needs WiFi SSID and passphrase transmitted to it wirelessly Phone/Computer - c...

Move hosted web site to your Pi

I did this with a Pi 3 but it should also work with a Pi 2. I had a website setup with a 100,000 entry database and a search engine for it. You could search for a file in the database and then d/l to your device. Instead of paying a monthly fee for the hosting, I thought why not set this up on a Pi?...

Re: New web browser - it's here!

I never use Midori as a browser on a Pi. I always use netsurf. So I'm about to try the new browser and see how it compares to netsurf. Of course I don't use netsurf for things like You-Tube, so I have no idea of how it handles video. edit: Seems to be a good compromise. Not as fast as Netsurf but mu...

Re: Windows on R-Pi

Hello, :geek: As said, microsoft said windows 8 will support ARM processors,lf! Wrong. MS said that Win8 RT would be written to run on some ARM based SoCs which were dedicated to run ONLY RT. IOW, the "blob" in the SoC had to be written to boot RT and ONLY RT. And as those who purchased RT tablets ...

Re: Problem with USB HD

The USB port on the Pi does not supply enough power for any hard disk. This is because it does not supply the maximum 500mA that the USB spec says it can optionally provide. Almost all other USB implementations (certainly those on the PC) supply 500mA or more. In order to provide enough power you n...

You need to install Samba on your Pi to share files with a Windows box.

As I said, I've tried it with several cards, each freshly imaged and have tried both the new NOOBS image and a Wheezy image from back in May. But even with a bad image the green light should at least flicked to indicate the Pi tried to read it.

No green light

This is happening on one of the original 256mb Pi. The green light fails to come on when I plug in the power cable. I get the red light but no flashing green to indicate the SD card is being read. I've checked that the gold contacts that detect if the card is inserted are making contact and cleaned ...

Thanks in advance for any help. My daughter and I are RPi noobs. Just bought a Pi so she could learn to program. Re: How much can I overclock?

The power supply has not much to do with overclocking. The main fuse F3 will only reliably allow about 750mA into the board. The question is how much overclocking can you do without sustaining corruption to the filesystem on the SD card? I tried OC max and got corruption in a matter of minutes and ...
